I just started Homecrafter Plus today and am trying to match some of the floor tiles to custom wall tiles, however, when I attempt to create new content and load my custom wall I receive the message: "Not Enough Hard Disk Space to Export the Selected Texture" What does this mean and what do I do about it?

Thanks for the help and support!
Amber

Well, is your hard disk full?
Right click on the disk where your "my documents" are stored, and select properties.

Gwillewyn is right; if you have Windows XP then click on 'My Computer' and right click on your hard disc icon (usually C). Then select properties. If your disc is full up then you need to free up some space, read this. (http://www.sims2techguide.net/article.php?p=25)

On newer computers the disk is usually partisioned so that My Documents is on D, making it easier to re-install windows without losing important documents.
It might also be that your disk is protected somehow, you might not have the correct permission to save on the disk.

My C drive isn't full. I have 161GBs of free space and MY Documents is in Drive C, not D. I have a program on my computer that clears out History, Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, called Window Washer 4.7. It is used every day. So as far as the disk space goes, I have plenty. So as far as that goes, I am fine. So I have no idea what the problem is.

Is the export directory read-only?

I have tried all of the following:

1. Uninstalled, re-installed homecrafter
2. Deleted and re-created the Working Directory folder
3. De-selected the read-only file in the folder properties, it keeps re-appearing
4. Cloned an already-existing wall and copied & pasted over, still won't export.
5. Checked dialogue description box character text count.
6. Made sure the file was not deleted before I attempted to upload/extract.

All to no avail. Sorry, I should have been more specific about what I have tried and not tried. As I mentioned above I have plenty of hard drive space, 164GB's unused. So that's not the problem.

Any other suggestions?
Amber

PS - I am also having problems with BodyShop. I can't get it to open. I am in for a hell of a long trouble-shooting session!! I am ready to destroy the computer! -> :rage:

Your problem with Homecrafter is right there. Some other users are having trouble removing the read-only bit from folders. Try searching for viruses, spyware, etc.

Try this:
If you open windows explorer (by clicking on my computer), click tools> folder options> view.... scroll right down to the bottom of the list. If you have a line which says 'Use simple file sharing (recommended)' then uncheck the box and click apply. Can you change the read-only status of your folder now?

Aleesha, simple file sharing is for xp pro only. Open the folder's properties page to check read-only status.

If the folder is readonly, programs can only read the files in it, they can't change files or add new ones.

Google translates readonly as schreibgeschützt.
