A bridge across a pool wold be especially useful if you have an island. You can make one with MikeInside's Pool Island Tutorial:
http://mikeinside.modthesims2.com/building/poolisland/
1) Plan your pool (don't build it yet)http://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217386&stc=1
2) Build a column deck where you want your bridgehttp://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217383&stc=1
3) Go to bottom floor (underneath the deck)http://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217384&stc=1
4) Build your pool between the support columnshttp://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217381&stc=1 http://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217387&stc=1
5) Add stairs, railings, and a fence to keep sims from fallinghttp://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217382&stc=1
5) Build the rest of your pool, if you want. Here is an idea of mine (using shaklin's pool mattress (http://www.shaklin.page.cx/)):http://www.modthesims2.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=217385&stc=1
