Ok, I was playing this family, and all of a sudden I notice the father cannot hold the toddler. He can talk to her, but not pick her up. He can put her into bed however. This is odd because everything was fine with the mother. The mother was also pregnant and when she had the baby I had no chance to name it and it was just floating there and could not be selected. I decided I would quit without saving, but when I went to the menu, the quit, neighborhood and save options could not be clicked! (the images were faded). So today I wanted to try something else, so I moved the family out, and put them in a different house. When I had last saved the woman was seconds before going into labor. So I open the family, and I can tell she's about to go into labor, but she just waves her hands once, then steps to the side and repeats the process, over and over. The pregnancy was through the Insiminator, but I have used it the same way numerous times with absolutely no problems. I hadn't downloaded any hacks recently, and had played the game before with the hacks I had currently installed with no problem. It may be a house I had downloaded - but the house had no hacks and I believe it said it even had no custom content - no one else has replied saying they had a problem either. Naturally, I could just delete the house, but I absolutely love it and have spent several hours modifying it to my personal tastes. I'm browing my (literally) hundreds if not at least a thousand downloads through Clean Installer now, but I can't see what the problem could be. I should also mention that I have all the expansion packs (except Holiday, although this house didn't require any) so that shouldn't be a problem. Yesterday I had downloaded a few new objects from here, clothes and other miscellany, but nothing game altering. I really don't want to delete the house and all my hard work, so if anyone has any ideas, or has experienced anything like this before, let me know what you did. Also, is there a way to view your content in the order it was downloaded? I could perhaps delete the other most recent downloads. Thanks for any help - and I did look around for other topics like this and saw some about stuck pregnancy, but nothing real similar to my situation. Thank you, I'm at my wits end and don't want to lose all my hard work.

Did you install the house with clean installer? If not, you may have gotten a hack with it.

I didn't install it with clean installer but I'm viewing all my downloads with clean installer and there are no new hacks...

The easiest way to determine if this is caused by custom content is to temporarily move your downloads folder to the desktop. If the game works, you know you have to find out which file(s) are causing this. The easy way is to divide your downloads in half, and half again, until you pinpoint the problem.

I am having a very unusual problem. I took my sims out to a community lot. The mother drove in her new car that I had downloaded (BMW). When she got back home, she had gotten out of the car, but her son did not and he had left with her in the car from the bowling alley. The game is showing that he is there, but I don't see him in the car and I can not get the mother to go back into her car. The car stereo is still playing as well.
The son had also wanted to do his homework but the first action of "go somewhere" was still on (cash machine). His life stats are frozen as well.
I tried to get the mother to go in her other car, but there is no choice to go to a community lot, just take a spin.
Can someone help me, I don't want to loose my boy!!!:(

Try saving, leaving the lot and reentering.

I got too anxious and decided to figure it out. I got my boy back by removing the downloads folder to the desktop. I was so happy to see him that I didn't think about what condition my home and other sims were in because I had lost all other custom content. Needless to say I saved that lot.
I feel that what I should have done first was to disable the BMW I had downloaded and that would have probably solved everything. When I visit the lot now, the mother is a shadow of black. I don't think I'll be able fix this one!
Or will I?

Did she have a lot of custom content on? If so, thats what caused it and you should be able to fix her by replacing them with working parts.

Yes she did, she had a new outfit I downloaded and I also used Catherine Zeta Jones as the mother.
So how do I change her back without having to kill her and create another one? I would like to keep her. A makeover doesn't really do anything, I would have to start from the beginning in order to get the sim I chose.
Thankyou for your help by the way:)

You should be able to get her clothes back by using a dresser to change her clothes. For her skin, you'll need to use SimPE's SimSurgery to reapply it.

I was able to bring her back. I did what you said. First I had her look in the mirror and change appearance. When that popped up I saw her in the window for "change appearance", I chose all the custom makeup and hair and then I closed out. She was still a black shadow, then I changed her clothes into custom clothes, still a black shadow, I even put an inseminator on her lot and chose facelift but did not actually choose any facial features I just opened it. Finally I decided to save the game and go back into the lot.
SHE WAS THERE!!!!!! IN THE FLESH SORT OF SPEAK! THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP:)

What do you mean by that? I'm new to all this downloading and the Sims.
Anyway I do have a new problem, my toddler does not look anything like she did before in the face, would this SimPE surgery fix a toddler?

That's ok, I read too much into things. I have a few more questions for you with my sims. My boy is frozen again, this time in front of the mirror after his mother gave him a makeover. The makeover went through but he is stuck looking at the mirror, his life stats are frozen as well, in one of your posts you told somebody to "turn move objects on and delete the problem sim, save exit to neighborhood and reenter the lot and the sim should be standing next to the mail box" Well how do you turn move objects on? I did save the game hopefully when I go back to play he'll be unfrozen.
Also my boy has lost his manhood from what happened to him earlier, he does have an ankle bracelet but when I try to click on it nothing happens and nothing happens when I adjust cock options either, not that I'm a pervert but I want my boy to grow up right if you know what I mean;)

Correction to my previous post, my boy's life stats are not frozen, they are dwindeling quickly. I'm gonna try removing a hack I recently downloaded and see if that works.

Hi there!
I had kind of the same problem . None of the adults could pick up, cuddle or talk to the babies/toddlers. The only thing that they could do was to put them in bed. After a couple of hours of searching through my downloads, folder by folder, I found what was causing it. It was the old version of the hack No Baby Harassment by J.M. Pescado. I removed it and everything worked again. Now I'm using the new version without any problems...
