Roof Problems

I need help with building my roofs (I'm only just starting designing complex houses).

My first problem is my roof comes through my attic walls like this...

Is there any mod or cheat to sort this out?

I tried following the link on the following post but it didn't work.

Secondly I want to create a roof like on the house on the following link but all my roof angles keep pointing the wrong way. Is there anything that can sort this out.
