Downloading RAR Files on a Mac

I have noticed (especially in the downloads section on here) that if i click to download a RAR file a page full of code turns up. Is there a certain program that I need to get to prevent getting this page or...? I own a Mac Mini by the way but this code page also turned up on the Mac G5 Tower
