I'm getting a new pc in a few days, with a slightly faster cpu (1.5ghz instead of 900mhz). The systemdisk on my old computer, where my simsgame was located, was giving a lot of trouble lately and It will be totally replaced by a new Harddisk. My questions are:
1) How do i prepare for a new Sims2-install? Can i take my old neighborhoods with me without losing any data (for example: sims and their friendship with other sims) ? Or should I just copy the neighborhoodfolder I want and put it into the new Sims2-documentsfolder?
I can backup my whole Sims2-folder on DVD, so that will be no issue.

2) I was never able to get more EP's running on my PC, because I was already asking a lot of my 900mhz-cpu. With a 1.5ghz cpu, is there a possibilty I can put another EP on, like Nightlife (cars  , downtown , etc.)? And what about the downloadcompatibility of Nightlife? I have about 12.000 downloads which I fear are not all compatible with Nightlife. How do you guys do that? Just add them step by step or what?
I installed Nightlife before, but it only caused my game to crash because the game was having problems with the not-compatible downloads, so want to be sure it does well this time :P

Thanks in advance ;)
