View Full Version : Lost disc

I did a search and didn't find anything on this, but apologies if I missed it somehow.

I lost Disc 1 of OFB. I still have Disc 2, the game case, etc. I really don't want to buy the whole game again if I don't have to so I guess I'm hoping to find if there's any kind of work around? If not, I was thinking of buying Family Fun but I'd be back in the same situation if I had to use Disc 1 of OFB as part of the install for FF and I'd rather just do one or the other right now.

Suggestions? Please?

I'm about 90% sure you shouldn't need the OfB disk for installing FF, and then it should want to use the FF disk to run - but if something ever happens and you'd need to reinstall, you'd be up a creek.

The official site (EA/Maxis) has info on what to do if you lose a disk - you'll have to send them proof you bought it, possibly $10, but they'll get you a new one.

I think this is the page HP is referring to:
http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/cci/ea/warranty_information.php?p_sid=%3C?%20echo%20$p_sid%20?%3E

Thanks HP and simsample! I knew they would replace broken discs, but assumed I'd get a "yeah, right!" if I told them I'd lost one. I may try and contact EA support and ask if I send disc 2 and the box if they'd be willing to send another.

Or I'll just cave and buy FF and hope OfB is on sale if I ever have to reinstall ;)
