View Full Version : Glitchy Graphics

Hello, I have been having some major graphics problems with my game.

I've tried patching, reinstalling, and even installing a nude patch (the blurs were just see-through patches instead of blurs). I have no idea what to do. Can someone please help me? There are screenshots below!

(BTW the whole nude patch thing actually worked, since there are no blurs to be skinned, the problem with the nudity doesn't show up. Everything else, though, is still screwed up.)

The house on the left produced the character and the house on the right produced the plate of food. This happens with every custom house I've layed out (maybe its family, but I put down housing templates for each family, so... yeah).

As you can also see, the walls of both houses are invisible in this viewing.

Any help at all is welcome!

Thanks,
ArAn

Which video card do you have, and which version of drivers is it using? How much RAM does the video card have, and do you run any other applications while playing the game?

Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
Driver Version 4.5.3.4
128MB RAM (Graphics Card)
768MB RAM (Computer)
Usually only Firefox or iTunes is running in the background.

That seems like a very old driver, I recommend trying a newer version. I'm personally using version 8.1.9.8. on my nVidia card without any major problems. I don't know if the driver will solve your problem, but it's worth a try :).

Uh, heh, would you happen to be able to tell me where I can get the driver? I'm good with computers, but I really suck at stuff like that on my OWN computer. Engh...

You can find the drivers at the official nVidia page (http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html).

That did not seem to work. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. (I kept my saved games... maybe that was a mistake.) Thanks, though.

Uh, this might also be related:
My game crashes when I try to have my sims go to the small shopping center in Pleasantvlle (I dunno about the other community lots, but that one for sure crashes my game.)

Have you went through these (http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=139718) suggestions in the FAQs? I recommend you try that.

Also, it may be worth reinstalling DirectX, and removing the older drivers.
