Iam having a problem when trying to create a quite "simple" MilkShape mesh, a pair of pants with modified shoes (boots). When importing the mesh file back into SimPE to replace the Geometric Data Container, I get an error message, as follows:

Is anyone able to help me fix this problem? ill upload the mesh and that stuff, so you can check it for me.

Thanks :)

Sims 12345 Go to the simpe site and follow the links there for direct X and install what is needed to run simpe.

DarkV -- Hmm. Did you make any progress with this? Can you include what tools you used (I know I had you pull this out of a thread, I thought it was meshtool, but I need to know for sure) and a brief summary of steps you took, and if you've ever done the edits (as per the tutorial) and had them work?

Well, i followed the tutorial, and that worked fine.

Next, I tried to create this clothing mesh thingie, using your tutorial as a "guideline", so just using simPE, MilkShape with wes_h's Unimesh plugin, and BodyShop, thats all..

I'll try to recreate my work, and see if it works now, maybe I just screwed up somewhere, it happens, you said it yourself :P

So, i'll try that tomorrow, and hope it works, i'll give you some feedback on it when i'm done :)

Hmm.. just realized that the part for umm..bigger simmies are gone :/
Could that be the problem?

I don't understand the question. You will need to give us a step by step of what tools and steps as exactly as you can that you used ....

Ok, I followed your MilkShape/Unimesh tutorial step-by-stepm untill the mesh editing part. There, I modified the shoes of a pants mesh, to make them look like thick boots.
I now realize that I have deleted the part of the mesh file, that fits on bigger sims (fatter). When importing this mesh back into simPE, I get that error message.

All I did in Milkshape was to edit the shoes, and raising the whole pants mesh up, so the shoes would fit properly.

Hope this helps :/ I know i'm confusing..

Well, you can't just delete the fat morph - you have to either start off when importing the original mesh for edit and tell it you don't want to create blend groups (morphs) or edit your skinny morph, duplicate it, remove bone assignments from it, and then shape it to look fat and replace the fat morph with it.

replacing the 'fat morph' means to first, copy the comments from the fat morph to your new shape, then rename your new shape/group to have the same name as the original fat morph, then delete the original.

Now, in the future, if you're just doing things like moving vertices around and changing the shape, you could have both your regular body AND morph body visible (especially on lower legs) and just do them both at the same time. I have found that if I'm actually doing major edits (not just moves) that I have an easier time duplicating the body and changing it into the 'fat' version, but if it's simple edits, just doing them both at once is much easier.

Ok, thanks for your help both of you :)
