View Full Version : SORORITY -- Crashes While Going To Them

OK, I'll put this out of the way 1st -- I've installed ALL EP's, patched every one, checked ALL my downloads with CleanInstaller and SimPE to make sure they're compatible and working, I also deleted the groups.CACHE file and ran the game and it all ran smooth.

I've reinstalled about 5 times now and I'm able to play the game and do whatever I want WITHOUT PROBLEMS... BUT... the next day is when the problems occur.

After having reinstalled ALL ep's AGAIN last night, I loaded my Downloads and everything, loaded the game, enabled custom content and then reloaded the game.

I went into University and I went to the Tri-Var Sorority. Everything loaded fine just after the reinstall. I played for about 5 or 6 hours without any problems.

I went to bed and came down in the afternoon and loaded my game. Nothing unusual so far. I went to go back to the Tri Var Sorority and a message popped up saying that the application had a problem and must now close.

I clicked OK and the game crashed. In the titlebar of the message it said, "The Sims 2 Family Fun Stuff"..

So now I'm stuck... I have NO idea what to do.... I've loaded the game without my downloads and with and it still does this.

Is anyone ELSE having this problem?? It seems not as I've searched all over the forums with no luck! :( :(

PLEASE HELP!! I'm losing my mind and all I want to do is play the sims!!!!!!! :( :( :( :(

THANKS!!

No one else has had this problem ??

I went back and deleted the groups.cache file and that didn't work.

I also ran everything thru SimsPE and CleanInstaller and nothing bad there either :(

Any ideas??

The problem you are describing usually indicates a save game corruption- my daughter had this just a few days ago. When you play, do you save very often? Or do you play for 5 hours and then save? Try saving more frequently. Also, when you shut the game down, do you save and exit? If so, try saving the game first, then when it has done that just exit (you won't be asked to save). Make sure the game is completely shut down before switching off the computer- make sure the HDD light is not flickering.

OK ... so ...... how do I fix my CURRENT game?? I mean... it's the Tri-Var Sorority house that's doing this and they're already in the game :|

Is there a fix or what? If not, what files do I have to delete to get rid of the "corrupted" save game ??

Thank you so much for answering by the way :D

No one else seems to what to help, or know the answer :|

You probably can't fix this- it's a corrupted file. You could take a look at the neighbourhood in SimPE, but it's probably not possible to repair it.

OK, so what files do I have to delete to get rid of the saved game? DO I have to uninstall and reinstall? :|

See if you can bulldoze the lot from neighbourhood view.
