Problems Installing using the sims 2 content installer

After i download any object (From modthesims2 or other), i try to install it so i double click on it and this message comes up " Please double-click a custom content package fle to install" . I dont really get wat it really means and i dnt knw wat to do to get my objects into the game. Please help.

Also, almost all of my downloads are in .zip ... and inside those files, its in .package .... if i just drag that into my Downloads file, will it work?

Yes, .package files just need to be in the Downloads or Saved Sims (only CAS items) folders. But .Sims2Pack items need to be double clicked to auto-install to the Downloads folder. Take a look at the following FAQ about Downloads: http://modthesims2.com/article.php?t=46633
