I'm posting this for my niece as she doesn't know any english yet and i can't help her.

My uncle bought TS2 for both of his daughters. The youngest wants to buy NightLife and ask Pets for her birthday. My oldest niece doesn't want to buy NL, but does want to play it when the youngest buys it.
However, my uncle thinks this is unfair to his youngest daughter as she spends her savings on it.
Question is; is there any way to install NL on my youngest nieces account (XP) only?

She has told me she is going to keep the cd's in a locker so her sister can't get them, but i was hoping there would be an other way to do this...

No, I think you'd need to install on two different computers to have two different setups. This is because there is only one registry no matter how many accounts you have. I think the best that can be done is to either buy the Expansion packs as a joint present for the two girls, or to get one child to have one EP as a present, and the other child have another, and that they share them all. The only other alternative would be to buy another computer!

You can't do it simply by using windows user accounts, but it is possible to do it using just one computer, with two versions of windows in a dual boot. That takes a lot of extra disk space (since you don't just install windows twice, but also the whole of Sims 2 and all expansions) and seems a bit overkill, but it would work.

Hmm, that might be a solution to more problems the oldest girl causes. Thanks for the tip. Tiggerypum pointed me to this tutorial http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=107015, maybe that can help as well.

Wow, that little batch file is really clever- I'll bet that would work as you could run it under a seperate username for the one niece.
