creating costume makeup not showing up?

I'm trying to make some custom makeup for a Fullmetal Alchemist Sim I'm creating, and for some reason when I try to preview it, nothing shows up... if it's something on the chest area, do I have to use like a necklace 'template' for it to show up? I'm totally confused!

Hi, I'm puzzled why you would think that makeup would appear anywhere but on the face. That's the only place it appears.

The sim from the neck down is part of the 'clothing'. You can add a necklace to a clothing texture, if you are designing an outfit for your sim.

Sometimes when I download a necklace, it shows up under costume makeup. But then again, I guess I could be thinking of the glasses bin ;) I just want it to show up but I also want to be able to wear clothes with it...

if a necklace was made with a special mesh (Dr Pixel made one) then it comes up with glasses - all 'accessories' do (Maxis only gave us glasses, but we're a creative bunch) So you can look in downloads/accessories on site if you'd like to recolor a necklace. It'll be glasses in bodyshop is where you'll have to look to do the recolor.
