Who are the "default" sims - can I delete?

I want to clean up my game , and get rid of useless sims. Who are the sims that Simpe categorizes as default? I don't see them in my game anywhere, can I safely delete them, are they a pool of sims that the game will eventualy draw from? The game is spawning new sims, and not realy using these. I am confused.

These are sims Maxis created for us to use in bodyshop. I don't think there is a way to delete them, correct me if i'm wrong.

There isn't, I just peeked in bodyshop to check and as with all things Maxis-made, the delete option is greyed out for them.
