i am trying to add bumpmaps to my new mesh amde on afbodyslip
followed moragues tutorial and failed
help please!

New mesh, well then look at the discussion about using smd to add bumpmaps -- but that only works if the clothing already HAD bumpmaps in it's original form.

yeah i know-i read moragute tutorial on adding bumpmaps
and i already exported as .smd and imported back along with createbumpmapnormals checked
but tutorial didnt wokr for me cos i cant fnd any skin with 3 alphas already...
is it even possible?

If you can't find an appropriate skin you will need to modify one to support the number of layers you need. It is possible but it's a bit complicated.
But there is a trick you can use that seems to work. Instead of having X number of alphas all named differently. If they are using the same texture definitions & textures you can have multiple groups named the same thing but with different alpha values. In one of my experiments I have 6 alpha groups but they are linked to only 2 definitions total. But they each have a different level of opacity. In milkshape I gave them each a unique name, set their opacity levels in the comments, and listed them from body, then farthest from body to closet to body (don't know if that mattered). Then in Simpe I changed all the alpha groups names to be the same. Doing it this way you'll have smaller packages, you won't have the same texture multiple times.
And this was for translucent skins (blend in definition).
Oh I did not try this on a mesh that morphs, so I don't know if there would be any issues when it morphs.

hmm i will ave to read your post at least 25 times to understand wot you mean... (sorry - lol- its not your mistake-its my english)
btw how did u ave 6 alphas? using sunairs tutorial? or someother trick?
and can you kindly write a tutorial for me for solving the bumpmap problem? (the one you explained above.)
i dont know about what u said about texturing...simchic artist- crechebaby and mariavs will texture it...and i have not much idea ...
