View Full Version : Call in Employees will not work

I recently installed Open for Business, and the only issue I have (so far) is that when I try to call employees in to my home business, they won't show up. I get an error message (I play with Debug mode on) and then I hit Reset to cancel the action.
Does anyone happen to have any idea what could be causing this? Oh, I also do have all patches installed.

Try it with "Debug" off.

By that do you mean removing the boolprop (etc,) cheat from my UserStartup cheat file, or can I simply enter the boolprop false cheat in the neighborhood menu instead?

Usually it's caused by using the wrong version of Inteen.

Gwillewyn is right- an error is usually caused by incompatible content/ hacks; the debug mode just allows for the reporting of this. You need to find the problem file(s) and remove it.

I'll try disabling the InTeen, despite the fact that I deleted it and installed the OfB version already. Could it be a problem with the Flavour pack options?
Would it help if I uploaded the Error Logs that I found? One of them has a passing mention of the InTeen (even though replacing it was the first thing I did after I got the game up and running), but the other one doesn't.
Other problem I've only just noticed: I cannot activate robots. Would this also be due to the InTeen?

None of these problems would in themselves be caused by Inteen- Inteen works just fine. However the problem comes when you run Inteen (or any other hack) alongside other hacks which conflict with it- you have to make a choice to which of the hacks you want. A good way of finding the conflict is to use the Sim Wardrobe Hack Conflict Detection Utility (found in Sims2> Programs):

Makes sense, seeing as how I disabled InTeen entirely and still had the problems. That's weird. I guess it must be hacks that only conflict with each other when OfB is installed, because I hadn't had any problems before this. I'll try that Utility you suggested and update this message after I've checked it out.
ETA: That utility program doesn't work for me. I get an error message and the program closes down. I'll just have to use the tedious time consuming method of disabling/reenabling the hacks I happen to have to see which one(s) are causing the problems. I was kind of hoping someone might have an idea of what type of hack might have caused this, though.

If you have all of your hacks in one subfolder (minus any that must be in the root Downloads folder), then pull that folder out and use Simsamples 50% Method to find the conflicting hacks: http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=139702
