Is there a way to play the game on 2 different users with one file. At the moment, if I play on a different user, the families are all different and houses. I want it so that 2 different users can play the one file.

Your saved games file is in the user's "My Documents" folder. Each user account has their own "My Documents" folder. Maybe someone knows how to share it. Good luck.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to share between different user accounts. But what you can do is create a Sims account on the computer, that both users have access to while keeping them out of each others personal accounts.

Theoretically there would be a way to do this.... you could synchronise the two sets of Sims 2 folders using Briefcase or some other method. That way you'd just synchronise the folders prior to loading the game, and you would then be able to play on from where the last person left off. If disc space is an issue this would be no good though (especially if you have a lot of custom content), and you'd probably need to synchronise the entire Sims 2 folder to be sure that you kept all custom content/ hacks the same. It would make much more sense to just create a user account specifically for sharing with other people if you just wanted to have different people contribute to a neighbourhood.
