Have you tried to have your game in another location?
Like C:\My documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads ?

I use this without problems. Maybe you should take a backup first and copy "My Documents" directly under C:, it can't do any harm.

Is it all the files, or just this one? Is it possible you have a corrupt download?

It's all the files im afraid, I just tried them.
I dont know what else to do. Its only the Sims2Pack files that arent showing in the game at all.

Try right-clicking on any sims2pack file. Choose the Open With -> Choose Program... option. Then select Clean Installer from the list of programs. Let us know if you are able to open a sims2pack file this way.

Have you tried installing them with the Maxis installer? What about just double clicking them? Will cleaninstaller open them then?

Whats the Maxis installer?
Everytime I double click on it, I get that message (see picture in first post).

The Maxis installer is the default installer. When you install the cleaninstaller, it replaces the Maxis installer. http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=81610

You could also uninstall the cleaninstaller and download it again. It's possible something has gone wonky with the program. I assume it used to work before and then stopped working?

this is the first time I have used clean installer so I wouldnt know.

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\CSBin\PackageInstaller.exe

I dont have a CSBin folder, could that be the problem?

Frankly, I would uninstall it and reinstall it. You may have gotten a corrupt download of the CI. That would be the first thing I would do. Let us know how you get on.

Hi, that didnt work, Im still getting the same message.
Is there anything that I dont seem to be doing right?
Apart from uninstalling the downloads then reinstalling them (if I can remember where I got them lol) then trying again, should I just give up?

Your downloads could be corrupt also. They might even be bad files. Did they all come from the same site? You downloaded and installed the .net framwork that is required to run this program, right?

ETA: You might try the CI forum...

I am also wondering why this file is in your downloads folder? Save to desktop ( or a folder on your desktop) when you download content.

Is it supposed to be in my downloads folder?
I got the .net framework but that didnt help either, still getting "this is not a valid win32 application"
Most of the Sims2pack stuff I have is from here, I think, I did check and the majority seem to be, I remember downloading them.
