View Full Version : OFB lockable gate darker than it should be

I've made a gate matching the InvisiBarrier fence. Now that I've updated my game to OFB (yeah, I know I'm a bit late with EPs), I decided to make a new lockable version of the same gate.
I re-cloned the same original gate and used the same TXMT and textures. When I place the gate outside, it looks fine, but when I place it inside a house it looks darker than the matching fence. The same happens with the existing recolours.
Since the problem shouldn't be in the TXMT, can anybody tell me what I should change to get it right?

Thanks for any help
Silvia

Yes I've noticed this too and it doesn't make any sense to me why it has to be that way :wtf:
I made a thread like yours asking if someone had a clue to this, but it went by without a single reply, so I guess that no one knows why!

BTW me thread is here:

I'm sorry that I can't give you an answer, maybe it's a glitch that EA aren't aware of :giggler:

I have discovered something new making another gate, though I don't have a hint on how to solve the problem.
The gate I've made (with OFB lockable function) is:
- the perfect colour when placed outside
- darker than the matching fence when placed inside, with natural daylight
- lighter than the matching fence when placed inside, with artificial light (lamps).

This is kinda weird and I too am starting to think that this is a glitch. But I still hope that someone will pop up telling me that it's all my fault, so that I can correct the problem. :help:

EDIT: It occurred to me to check Maxis items, and I discovered that all the original gates have the same problem: when placed inside they don't match anymore their matching fences. So this is definitely a glitch.

Yeah I noticed that too when experimenting with the original gates, I wonder when EA will notice this, if ever!
