I'm sure this is a stupid question for all you experts out there, but I need to understand this. I am currently using Milkshape, Uv Mapper Pro (And Classic) and SimPE. I notice that a lot of the tutorials reference these and "The Mesh Tool". I thought Milkshape was the mesh tool??? I wanted to make a bedroom set, but until I understand this I don't think I can do the Dresser (Armoir, clothing container). So if someone can just clairify I would greatly appreciate it. I have been searching for an hour for the answer. So sorry if this has been asked and answered somewhere.

Meshtool is an additional special free program that is used with the tutorials (they tell you when to use it) to export and then import your changed mesh.

You can download it here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=45457

Mesh Tool is a little utility that preserves the joints(used in animated meshes) while exporting the mesh from Milkshape, a normal obj export doesn't preserve the joints!

Here's a tutorial on how to use the mesh tool, it will give you all the info you need:
Retaining object animations using the Mesh Tool (http://modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=86295)

and here's the mesh tool:

Hi Catherine

You could also use the unimesh plugin by WesH as an alternative. You can use this in milkshape. You can see info on it here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=122399

Good luck
