Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to cut away from objects in Milkshape?

Basically I'm trying to slice in half one of the Maxis bookcases so it only has four shelves.

If it's impossible to do in Milkshape, would it be possible in other free 3D apps mentioned on this site like Wings 3D and Blender?

Also, if I'm able to cut this mesh in half, would the texture file have to be changed in any way or could it just be left as it is?

Help would be greatly appreciated! :)

well you can't just cut it in half, that woudl leave you with half a mesh.
you can remove a few shelves nearteh top, bottom or middle- your choice) and then lower the top (or if you want a hanging shelf, raise the bottom) and join vetices to finish.
If done correctly the mesh will not require remapping to the texture. And if you want it to use the original Maxis texture the best would be do make the new shorter bookcase a slave to Maxis' original so that shares all the textures (repository technique).
