how do you make a shirt or bottom available for both genders? Like if there's a pair of pants thats for guys how do you make it available for girls too?

You'd have to make a new mesh for it for the other gender, to fit the other body - male and female bodies aren't the same size, so if you just switched the "gender" field in the Property Set to change the gender, you'd end up with gaps and it wouldn't match up. Assuming you have the right number of vertices going around the seam, you could clone the existing mesh for males, resize the upper edge to fit on a female body (you'd need to use Extended Manual Edit to make it match up perfectly) and then change the gender field in the recolour to make your base recolour (and mesh) show up for females. You technically COULD change the gender field to 0x03 which would be for both genders, but it wouldn't fit right on females if it was originally for males (and vice versa) so you'd really need two meshes and two sets of recolours if you want clothes for both genders to fit right.
