Would it be possible to...?

Hi, I was wondering about the NL Garage Door and regular gates. I have two questions which I would love to have answered!

1. Is it possible to make gates which are, say, 5 tiles wide (the width of a Nightlife driveway)?

2. Since there is obviously some code that makes the garage door automatically open, could this then be used in making said gate? Would it be possible to have the gate open automatically? The only problem I can think of is the gate opening at the wrong speed.

I've got a couple questions about the garage door myself... posted them about a month ago, as yet I haven't really gotten any answers. I think the garage door, making things 5 tiles wide is somewhat uncharted territory... and really think it should be investigated....
I've been trying to make a backwards garage door.... sorry I know this isn't a helpful answer, just wanted to reply to let you know that I don't really think anyone knows an answer to this yet... :(

OK, man. Well, I guess you're right about these questions being a bit new. I'm sure one day it'll be Numenor who'll break the ground with automatic gates and such. I've never got into making custom content, I'm just in it for building houses really, but surely these things would be possible? I always wondered why there wasn't a 3 tile wide door - you'd just need to position a 2 tile one correctly right? But I guess it's not as easy as it sounds? It'd be great if an experienced modder/creator could shed some light on this! Hint.
