I have tried the Grapholina tutorial and it did not work. I ended up with an armoire that looked exactly like the original except with a crazy looking texture on it since it had my texture but wasn't remapped. I'm looking for a tutorial that sticks to telling you how to take an import-ready object and use the mesh tool to fix the animations...one without all the Wings and texturing stuff. Is there such a thing?

Well the animations work although I think I reversed the order of left and right because the doors seemed to open the wrong way and then jumped about a foot away from the main armoire in the open state. I am planning on redoing it to see if that was the issue. But I do have a couple of questions:
1. If I want to clone the Dynasty armoire instead of the Limited Ed one do I still name the pieces as I did for the tutorial?
2. How do I get rid of the hinges and handles of the original mesh? My mesh has small round handles in the same position and no hinges showing. But the EA hinges and handles are showing up and I don't know how to alter that while still being able to have an animated armoire.
Thanks for any help :)

1. The names you give to the three separate mesh parts before taking it to the Mesh Tool are just for your own reference so that you know which is which. So, the names don't matter as long as they are the correct parts.
2. You can delete the handle subset completely if you want to make your handles part of the main armoire. Delete the handle subset in GMDC, in the Parts tab in Shape, any material definition and material override there is for the handle specifically, and also open the Geometric Node, select tsDesignModeEnabled from the blocklist and delete the line for the handle subset.

Thanks so much...I think I need to dedicate a set to you...the only reason I'm making progress lately is because of all your help!

I was able to delete the handle subset in the Parts tab in Shape but I cannot figure out how to delete it in the GMDC. I see how I could delete the whole tslocator from the Resource list but wouldn't that also delete the armoire and the armoire clothing as well? How do I delete just the handle part when it shares a tslocator with the rest of the object?
In the Geometric Node when I go to the designmodeenabled in the blocklist there is only one part there and that is armoire. There are no lines for the clothing or for the handle as there are in the GMDC. Does that mean the handle part has already been deleted there because I deleted it in the Shape section?

In the GMDC, go to the Groups tab, select the subset from the list you want to delete, then click Delete and Commit :).
The handle probably never was color-enabled then, so you don't need to worry about it. They do not get automatically deleted when you delete them elsewhere, it just probably never was there in the first place.
