(not sure this is the right place) hi! I just bought a new computer with windows vista home premium. I tried to install sims but my third disc is broke so it couldn't install it. Therfore I borowd my friend's Sims 2, but when i got to disc 2 tsdata/control/control1.dat 23% a pop up tells me that it cant transfer the file and that i have to cancle the instalation. I tried my discs again, but this time the same thing happend, at 23% it stopped! The same as the other disc!! Every time it gets to disc 2 23& it stopps! So it can't be the cd.
Do anyone know what this could be or how I could fix it??? I'm desperat!!! :(

You can try a manual (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=10875&p_created=1127328997&p_sid=vLXbFaZh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MyZwX3Byb2RzPTcsNzAwLDExOTUmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PTMuMTE5NSZwX2N2PSZwX3BhZ2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PWluc3RhbGwgdHJvdWJsZXNob290&p_li=&p_topview=1) install.
Also, you might want to get a replacement disk from EAgames. They are quite reasonable. And it's always best to have your own set of disks. :)

Hi. That happened when I first tried to install it on my Windows XP except for me it kept stopping on 49% so the next day I took it back to the shop and I got the DVD version and I had no problem installing it. So if your Vistra computer is DVD compatable (it should tell you somewhere near where you put discs in) then get that one if your new discs don't work.
I hope this helps.
See ya.
