Hey, I'm trying to do a recolor of the OFB clothing store stuff. I can change the rack on the expensive clothing, but not on the cheap. Is this something that the CEP program would fix? I can change the color of the cheap clothing itself, but the rack seems to be a different part?

I don't remember any clothing racks from OFB, I think you mean the ones that came with the base game :). Nope, the metal parts are not recolorable even with the CEP. To be able to recolor them, you'd have to make a new clone and then color-enable that subset. Or ask Numenor to include the metal subset to the CEP ;).

Eeep! Well that sucks, but thanks. Hey, I have four clothing racks........I know I downloaded one. So what was in the original game, three (two cheap and one expensive) or four (two cheap and two expensive)?

I'm assuming that toilet with that stall around it is another no-no? I;ve seen the toilet inside change color, but never the stall itself.

Well, if one of the four is something you downloaded, then it's a custom clone of a clothing rack, not a Maxis one. Three racks came with the original game.

The toilet stall's walls should be recolorable, but there is a small area around the door knob that's a separate subset, and since you can only have two recolorable subsets and not three, it can't be recolored.

The clocthing racks are more complex objects than it appears at a first glance.
Looking at the code (I never experienced this in game, but I play very little, so I can't say...) it seems that the clothing racks placed in an owned shop go empty, after a certain number of sales. And when this happens, the mesh changes from "rack full of clothings" to "empty rack"; the mesh change forces the game to re-apply the current recolour to the new mesh, and this would revert the metal part (which was not made recolourable by Maxis) to the default colour.

When the first CEP was created, I just forgot to include the racks, but now that OFB exists, I can't add it any more.
