View Full Version : Wonky Skin in SimPE?

I've just started recoloring objects with SimPE. I made this decoration, and kept having to go back and fix the skin I was recoloring. I noticed this blotch of wrong color and couldn't figure out what was going on. Then I noticed that when I pulled up the object in SimPE....it had the same wonky discoloring. This has happened a few more time with other objects. What am I doing wrong?

I make my skin, import it in SimPE, update all sizes, and everything looks great. SO I commit and save, blah blah blah. I go into my game, the object recolor is wonky. So I exit the game, and start SimPE again, and sure enough, that skin recolor for my object is wonky now. So am I saving in the wrong format, or is the object dealing with a weird mesh, or do I have aliens controlling my computer??

Try right clicking on the texture and use Build DXT. You will need the NVidia tools installed and remember not to update all sizes when you use build. Just commit. I'm not really sure why it does it but it happens to alot of us.

Hope that helps

Just a note, try using Numenors Object Recolouring tutorial (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=102356)
