Okay, so I'm incredibly new to this forum, so sorry if this has been asked before; I swear I searched!

I just got a new laptop about a week ago, and I installed the Sims 2 because, you know, it's only the best game ever. I have a lot of custom content that I have transferred over (1265 items), but I finally got it all over. So I start up Bodyshop to start going through all my content (deleting it from the game because most of I don't like anymore) and I finally start on hair. I go to custom hair and on the fourth or fifth page it just freezes Bodyshop without loading any of the little thumbnails and I have to exit.

So I figure I didn't wait long enough to load it all. I try three more times, and it still freezes on that page. I was thinking maybe it's because I don't have CEP installed yet, so I install that and it still crashes. I decide to go through the game to delete the hair thats causing the problem. Three tries later, still nothing will work. I figured out that if I click fast enough so I skip over that page it doesn't crash/freeze both programs, but it takes an incredibly long time to load.

I can't see the hair, so I can't go on that. I (obviously) can't hover over it to find it's name/creator. I don't know it's file name, and I installed all of it on the same day. I dunno if I should try the 50/50, I'm a bit skeptical on it.

After this, I'm subfoldering my custom content and manually deleting the all the stuff I don't want, so I never go through this again. >__<

Specs:
- Vista Home Premium
- Sims 2 Base Patch
- OFB, Pets, Glamour Life Stuff

- I thought about maybe using Delphy's Download Organiser, would that help?
- I thought about downloading the Pets/OFB patches, would those help?

Any help/clarifications/even suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Go ahead and do the 50% method. Dunno why you'd be skeptical on it - that's the way that works when you've already tried the other methods in the FAQ on problem custom content. I don't think DDO or the patches would help you at all since this is an issue with (likely) a corrupted file.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes!

I just kind of thought about long it would take, and it seems like it would take loads of time, but I guess I have to suffer if I want to fix it, right?

It takes a lot less time than you might think, since you load progressively smaller and smaller folders full of stuff, which makes your game load much faster than if you loaded with everything. It is a bit of a pain but it works - I've had to do it myself several times. It's a good opportunity to get organized, too, if you're not already. ;)
