Hi !...I tried to find this answer, but allas....
I had to reinstall my game. But, I have a few neighborhoods that are okay, that I had saved somewhere on my puter.
Now, How can I have them back in my game, without having to recreate them, the houses, the families ?
I tried to just move one of my neighborhood folder into the game's neighborhood folder. It wasn't in the game...didn't show up.
So I tried create a new neighborhood, and then close the game...replace that newly created one with one of mine...mine didn't show up neither, just the one I had just created.
Can anyone help me please ?
Thank you,

How are they numbered? Pleasantview is N001 etc. You can't 'replace' a neighborhood technically. You would remove that particular n'hood file. Then put your backed up neighborhood back in the n'hood folder. I hope I am understanding you correctly.
To backup individual n'hoods, you would copy the folder found in neighborhoods>00# (# being the number of the neighborhood you want to backup).

well...i had a neighborhood #5 in my back up EAgames...
so I just copy that : N005 into my new game installation, so into my new EAGames/the Sims2/neighborhoods.
and it did not work, N005 was showing in the neighborhood folder, but in the game, there was just the 3 defaults ones !
I even put my whole old EAGames folder in My Documents, putting the one I play actually on my desktop, then lauch the game, and then put the 2 houses&families into sims2Pack (package lot)
it created a folder named PackagedLots into my sims2 directory.
then following the instructions I saw here, i moved the 2 sims2pack out of this folder, and put them on my desktop.
then I put back my actual EAGames folder in place....
Instal the 2 sims2Packs,...well the 2 lots weren't there ! nothing in the uccupied lot bin ! nor in the unoccupied....they were just not there.
so, i copied the folder "packagedLot" into my new game installation....nothing either.
But, I kinda manage to have my 2 families back...
I created a new neighborhood...the same as I had before....then close the game.
then i copied again, my N005 in the neighborhood folder , PLUS, I copied all it's content into the new neighborhood...to replace what was in, actually nothing much, since it is a new created neighborhood, and I didn't play with it yet.
So now, for a reason it worked...I have 2 "Quietown", one is empty, all has to be done, and the other one is the one I had..the one I wanted !!!
BUT....the N005, is still not showing...LOL
AND, if i want to keep only the occupied "Quietown" and delete the other, I can't.
If i do so, both are gone !!! (I tried before...lol)
So that's it !
I would prefere an easier way, and I still cannot figure out why the packaged lot didn't work, but....at least I have my 2 families back !!
Thank you,

Okay, so finally, the house was there, the family in it, but when I tried to enter, the game crashes while loading...
so, I'll forget about it for now...I just recreate the house and the family, -all my sims are in my saved sims folder  -
I think my back up game is corrupted or something...and this is why neiter the packeged lot,nor the family worked....
