View Full Version : Computer Spits Out Disk

Today when I inserted The Sims 2 disc into my MacBook, my computer told me to insert the original disc each time I put it back in. After trying about 7 times, I decided to uninstall it. I'm quite sure I did it right, but when I attempt to insert my disc again, it spits it out! Nothing pops up, it doesn't recognize the disc at all, and just ejects it. What do I do? :(

http://forums.sims2community.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8 This is gameplay help. The people in the computer hardware/software forum would probably give you more information on your hardware problem. :)
You could try uninstalling again, but it sounds like your disk reader is having difficulties. It may or may not be related to the disk. It could very well be a hardware malfunction. Does the device work with other CD's? Input is appreciated. :)

No offense, but I do recommend you stay here, the mac players, I would wager, don't venture out from the mac forums much as far as technical difficulties go.
Do test different disks, both DVDs and CDs (movies and music) plus try other game disks (for instance if you have a Civ game or some other game that always requires the disk to be in... original Sims perhaps?)
If the drive spits out each one, or only plays a certain type (only CDs for instance... Sims 2 is DVD-based) then I'd call Apple and pray you still have a warranty.
Also check your keyboard's eject key. I'd can-o-air it or even pop the button off if it ejects all disks. But only if it ejects all disks.

No offense...but this is not hardware support for Macs or PC's ,flameflash. My suggestion was a gentle push intended to steer the OP to the correct support forum. If they get no help there, they will have to look for hardware support elsewhere.
