View Full Version : [Mac] Safe to rename .package files?

Yeah, yet another question from Woof. Sorry to be a pest. But I have gone through the 22 pages of question on this forum, and haven't found the answer.

So anyway, here is my question: Is it safe to rename downloaded cc (the .package files) what have mostly numerical names? For example, doing a DBPF reading of a file, I see that it is a Louis@SimCribbling@ skin and that it has a filename that looks like 0a26a0958056a4b41d90935b3951f779.package. If I were to rename it to something like "[email protected]" would that somehow damage the file?

That's perfectly all right. Won't harm it at all - the game is looking at the internal bits of the file - it doesn't care one bit for filenames. Rename away. :)
