Class notification messages and marks

Hi!
I've discovered this problem some days ago, it's not something major that won't let me play, but it's keeping me pretty nervous, the thing is:
When the sims have to go to class the game displays a message that says that they have to go and adds the action of going to the queue; the same happens when they have their finals, plus they warm you five hours before. Well, none of this are working now.
Here's a more detailed story about it, and the things I've tried to fix this:

When the guy first went to collage I moved him to a dorm, almost everything worked perfectly; the message that tells you that the sims has to go to class was displayed and the action of going was added to the queue.
However I think that the marks he got in the exams were too high (I can't be sure because the bar that shows you their progress is not so specific, but this happened to me once like two years ago, but instead of getting better marks they got worse ones).
After he finished his first year I decided to move him to his own house, then the things I said above started to happen =S

The things I've tried to fix it:
I moved my downloads folder so that the game could not read it and ran the game, it didn't work, the problem continued.
I changed the name of the EA games/ The Sims 2 folder and ran the game so that it would create a new one, and the problem was gone. So that led me into this solution....
I erased cache files, cigen.. registry or wathever.. (sorry for my lack of knowledge in the subject xD ) but the problem was still there.

What should I try now? :help:

The sim doesn't happen to be a premade maxis teen sim? Some of them are really hinky when it comes to sending them to Uni. Also, is this a custom Uni hood or premade. Is this happening with all Uni sims, or just one? Have you patched all of your games? I mean all of them..not just the latest patch.

The sims is Alexander Goth. The university is not custom.
As far as I know it is not happening with all of them, I thinks it doesn't happen if the sim lives in a dorm. But I'll make sure =)
And about the patches, I've patched the games since OFB I think, I didn't have internet before, and I honestly had no idea the patches existed before I got internet in my cumputer.
Is there any way to patch the older EP's?

This is truly puzzling. It's extremely hard to replicate since it only involves one sim.

As for the patches, yes, just download the basegame, Uni and Nightlife patches and install. If the patch says your game is updated, just move on to the next patch.

Also, I noticed you changed the name of the sims2 folder and the problem stopped. That leads me to believe that some other file is causing the malfunction. The next step after testing with a clean sims2 folder (and thank you for going that far..most folks don't) is to start putting the files back in until you can duplicate the problem.

Strictly guesswork, but the problem may lie with the house lot.

Have you tried having him find a different new place and move in there?

That could very well be the case. I thought i remebered the problem, but couldn't think of it.

Regina, try moving him back to a dorm or to a greek house and see if that changes anything.

Hey guys, I tried moving him to a different lot, one of the houses that the university already has and the problem dissapeared. It was the lot.
Do you think that the problem would be that the lot where he was living was one of the custome mini lots by MaryLou; because then I moved my sim to an empty new lot (of the maxis ones) and recreated the lot where he lived but of course the terrain was bigger and it was all right, no problems.

I don't think it's the lot itself. The problem lies in the fact that the lot os a residential lot in university. No idea why though.
