Hi
my issue is that most of my Bon Voyage maxis items are invisible when purchased in both build and buy mode. Yes the icons appear in the catalogue however when you drag them on to the lot all you see are the green foot prints?
I have reinstalled the whole game recently due to no end of other issues which seem to have resolved themselves. My question being is there away to reinstall BV without uninstalling everything.

Hmmm, sounds like a strange variation on the corrupted objects issue. Try the steps in this faq and let us know how that goes: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Corrupted_Objects.package

I am no expert, but I think that if you move those folders that you want to keep from being changed or deleted by the uninstallation of Bon Voyage (such as your neighborhoods) from your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 folder onto your desktop temporarily, then just uninstall Bon Voyage and then reinstall it, and then place those folders back into your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 folder, you might be OK. You shouldn't have to uninstall and then reinstall everything just to do an uninstall and then reinstall of Bon Voyage.
I uninstall and then reinstall specific expansion or stuff packs the way I described usually with with no problem, but keep in mind that whatever folder you are saving MIGHT contain whatever it is that is causing your problems, too. I had some really wonky issues that were going on and kept on going on after uninstalling and then reinstalling certain EPs or SPs and it was because it turned out that the problem was in the "The Sims 2 Folder" from My Documents/EA Games. Somehow, something got corrupted in there, though I never figured out what. By deleting it and letting the game recreate that folder and all its sub-folders, the problem was taken care of.
To poster number 2, how would I follow the steps outlined here "Game Help:Corrupted Objects.package", if my copy of The Sims 2: Bon Voyage is a legally downloaded copy from The Official EA Games Store (http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=BlISWKzXVR-O_KY_WgAOx-6HUDZjh4DmI6bmLBfLf4Q7g1AMIABABGAEwATgAUKWvhtD7_____wFgyY7GjfSk0BmgAdCJvfwDyAEByALY1rcB2QNZBQL935xcceADAA&sig=AGiWqtzjEAbCY3JaxeokX9vZkS35Xy6I4g&q=http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/DisplayPaidSearchPage/%3Fpdsearch%3Dea/na_ea_branded/google/0/ea_store_Bro)? I have no idea where all the "disk" information is stored after the EP is downloaded via the EA Download manager. The installation is done via the download manager. I will tell you one thing, I am NEVER going THAT route again, I will always buy a hard copy from a local store or from Amazon or half.com or something from now on. I haven't the faintest clue how to even back the game up for reinstallation after a crash, and I did this for Teenlifestyle stuff as well as for Bon Voyage. ::Kicking Self:: That is what I get for being impatient and "wanting it right now!" I would love to be able to get a fresh copy of the objects package as described in that game help wiki, but I have no actual disk with which to do so, and I am having some MAJOR graphics issues with Bon Voyage, strange spikey visual artifacts, invisible hair and clothes (which creates a floating face effect) and recently, the game crashed due to some 3D error which just shouldn't be happening.
