View Full Version : Cannot buy clothes??

I have one family (1 adult + 9 kids) that CANNOT buy clothes (The Bethlen Family).
Neither on their own lot (via Christianlov's rack), different lot, nor on community lots.
What is weird is that all the other sims CAN buy as usual - from hacked racks.
But none of them can actually do it on the Bethlen family lot. :wtf:
Please help me, these nine kids want to wear something prettier than Maxis outfits!
(PS. No, it's not a hack conflict.)

Btw, I found some blah-blah in the cheat console:

Is it something important? :help:

How do you know it's not a hack conflict- have you tried it sans custom content? If you use debug mode, are you getting any errors?

Well, I know that if it was a hack conflict, all the families wouldn't be able to buy anything. Besides, I am using the same set of hacks as before, when there was no such a problem. OK, I'll check debug mode. And, I must tell you, I noticed something strange while playing the Bethlen family (it was before the problem). I clicked an object and suddenly, one element of interface disappeared. It was that one on the left side, with pictures of the sims. So, I saved and went back to the town, then re-entered the lot. It was back :) And now, I need to buy clothes...

Might be because you have 9 kids and an adult- that's above the usual number of sims in a family.

I thought 10 was the MAX? Random suggestion - You know the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true cheat? You know somethimes it would pop up with a message box and say that something has failed do you want yo either, Retry, Delete or Cancel, could it be related to that if at some point while with this family you deleted something that poped up? :/ No idea, but i remember seeing it in a handy MTS2 FAQ saying 'NEVER DELETE'! hehe X

sinniti, the usual maximum number of sims in a lot is 8. Your suggestion about using the testing cheats is good- I already suggested that myself (debug mode is another way of saying 'use the testing cheats'!). I'm hoping that mycodenameis:juni would already have worked through the Game Problem guide too:

simsample, I had a family of 20 and buying worked fine O.o hmm... I'll test it without hacks later and tell what it looks like.
I tried moving them, going on community lots, adding other sims to the family... and every time they just jumped and stopped as if they were doing nothing.
sinnity, I know that message box. I think I saw it when I was trying to use the clothing rack... I'm going to test it and see what's going on.

EDIT:
Good news everyone!
I did only 3 things and don't know which worked, but it worked indeed :)
1. started SimPE. Noticed 3 Bethlen families: 1 proper, 1 of the baby I gave for adoption and 1 consisting of a replace sim I made some time ago and another townie (first time I see her!). So, deleted the last one.
2. updated InSIM to the latest version.
3. updated clothing rack to the latest version.
I think the strange family did that... but nevermind :)
I'm happy to have my small simmies well-dressed :)
Thanks for your support and patience and sorry for wasting your time :)
Love,
Juni

Glad you got it sorted; a 'jump bug' is usually caused by out of date or incompatible hacks. As you've found out, just because some families work okay with hack conflicts doesn't mean they all will!
