Hi i sent my computer to be fixed and i should be getting it tomorow. its formated. is there anything important to do before i install all of the sims 2. :)

If your hard drive got a reformat and a fresh install of Windows then I would make sure all drivers are up to date. At the minimum that would be chipset, graphics, sound, and prob the onboard ethernet. Whatever other hardware you have installed might need drivers too. I would also make sure you have the newest directx 9.0c installed.

If it didn't get e fresh install of Windows, then I'd install that first!
Also, put on some decent *free* antivirus software, and make sure you know how to disable it for when you run the game. For the game itself, make sure you patch all EPs (and Family Fun if you have it, too).
