Hello.
I have a question about swim pool, foundations and decks.
Is it possible to edit the scripts of swim pool, foundations and decks so that it can do what i want?

1. For exemple, normally we can put swim pool only at ground. But I want to put it to anywhere like swim foundations and decks or any floors. So, is it possible to do that with the edting of scripts?

2. For example, normally we can put the foundations and decks only with around the first floor of the house. But, I want to put it also to around any floors of the house. So, is it possible to do that with the edting of scripts?

This forum is for broken games. It is not for help creating or modding. Please post all questions regarding the creating and modding of TS2 in the approrpiate Create subform.

You do not need any modding to do upper level foundations -- This only works with the lattice skirted foundation and the pole type foundation. Press shift while putting in the foundation and it will go onto the currently active level. (It does need support - such as a floor or other foundation.)

Be aware that sims can't 'live' in the foundation space. It looks open and liveable, but they know it is not. (I only have EPs up to Pets, it is possible this has changed in later EPs, though I doubt it.) Using a piece or two of foundations on upper levels can look very nice and give a totally different feel to your lots.

ajy0903 - Modding foundations is similar to modding walls. The only difference is that walls, fences, modular stairs and fireplaces are optionally managed by the Scriptorium (which make easier adding a custom wall/fence/etc. to the game).
In your case, you have to manually edit the main "deckfoundations.txt", creating a new section identified by a UNIQUE number. But you can only change the parameters already included in each section, i.e. wall paint for your custom foundation, and the GUIDs for the flat and support parts (that you must have already created).
I can't see any parameter that can force the game to put pool tiles in different places than the ground. However, there are tricks in the Build forum to create pools upstairs.
