Hey all!

I'm a bit stuck/annoyed at this, and I'm not sure if it's my computer, or if it happens to everyone!

At the moment, it seems to take a while when moving on to the next "page" of items, like 3-4 if not more seconds as if it's loading - sometimes with the egg timer.

Does this happen to everyone?

I don't think it's because I have a slow computer, it's quite the opposite! Any ideas of how to speed it up, or is it just part of The Sims 2?

My computer is:

Windows Vista Business 64bit
Intel Quad Core 2.4ghz
4gb xTreme RAM
Nvidia 8800GT 512mb

Cheers guys!

How much Custom Content do you have? I`ve noticed similar delays when accessing Custom Content in the catalog. Once the information has been retrieved, the delay goes away until such time as additional information is required. I`m not sure when the game dumps cached information, though, as I seldom play more than one lot per session.

That's just it, at the moment I have no custom content!

Yes, once I've already looked at the items, it does load quicker the next time, but it just is a bit annoying if I'm decorating a whole house going through all the items heh.

In that case, how many expansions do you have? I would expect that to have an effect, too, though not as large an effect, as the objects are collected into far fewer files. [Try saying that ten times fast. "Ok, 'That ten times fast."' :p ]

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:

General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problem FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Content FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.

General - Post System Specs
We need more information before we can help with your issue. Please post your system specs - instructions on finding them are here: Game Help:System Specs

That happens to me once I get a ton of custom content but it could also be due to other things, I imagine.

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.
