Ok, Been playing forever and this one has always preturbed me. Does anyone know how to turn on the lighting fixtures in a building or house when returning to a Build Mode Session. I'll give you an example as to what I have done and what I have created and try to explain as best I can what I'm trying to accomplish.

I build houses. And when I say I build houses I mean I build houses. Usually in the range of 750k+. These houses sometimes take a few weeks to build and they are very time consuming. One of the issues I have always had ever since I really got into building homes and dorms and whatever I have yet to figure out when I go back to the specific lot my lights and all lighting are always off when I return to the lot to finish building. And I cannot turn them back on without replacing them.

And don't think for a minute that I'm going to replace 300+ lights in a dorm or mansion or home that is of that magnitude. :faceslap:

I sat down with my :Pint: Rum & Coke and decided to find on the net *** If I could *** something that would possibly help me on this problem. Be it an in game console command or something. But after about an hour of looking around all the sites always came up with Cheat this and Cheat that.

So out of the all sites I come to this one is still by far the best one to get answers to my questions.

So if anyone else knows the specific code or how to resolve this issue to turn all my lights on when I go back to a build mode session I would greatly appreciate it.

QUESTION: How do I turn the lights on when I come back to a Build Mode session without having to replace all the lights that I have already placed and or moving a sim in to turn them on?

ANSWER: ??

Thanx

In Build Mode, use the day/night toggle.
In Live Mode, click a light and hit "Switch on... All" - fairly sure this is a game feature, although it may be a hack. If so, Content List and WCIF .

Ok...The Day Night toggle wasn't exactly what I was after but I know where you were going with that. Unfortunately that doesn't fix the lighting issue when coming back to a build mode session.

I was trying to avoid a live mode by placing a sim in the building until it was completely done. But by that token you also gave me another idea to try by that same idea in affect. So here was my work around for this same post and you gave me the idea rider.

What I did was Package the file to save it in it's current state. This way I have it backed up. LMFAO Can never have enough backups that for sure...

After this I took and moved the lot to the houses bin. This way it is stored there as well. Then I placed the lot back on the ground keeping it in the houses bin as well so that I can always go back to it should I have to.

I then moved a Sim into the lot with 9 Million and had her turn the lights on. She has been my tester of housing and dormintory & community lot building for a very long time. And now that she is in the building I can modify it with only one Sim on the lot. This particular sim has never met another sim so when I go to package it again there will only be 1 sim in the package along with all the CC and everything the building has. All I will have to do is remove the 1 sim from the package with Sims2Pack Clean Installer and wallah. My building will be intact. So long as I never play this lot until it's finished and my test sim never meets anyone *** Which that won't happen while in build mode *** while all the time I'll be able to test the functionality of the entire building with her.

Thanx a bunch Whiterider for the inspiration and the quick response and my answer. See...this is why I always come back to MTS2!!! You guys always have my answers I need. =)
