View Full Version : APARTMENT LIFE - WONT RUN

I just bought AL too, no go. I run WinXP, and have no issues with any other Expansion Pack CD's. I don't even know how to go about finding this Alcohol stuff? All my other CD's run fine. How do I find out if I have emulation settings? Why would EA put us through this frustration. I even sent their warranty department the numbers scribbed on the CD itself, I also think it's a bad batch of CD. My problem is they will exchange it for another $13.00, they're kidding, right? Why can't they give you a download off the internet to get once you prove you bought it and it's defective?

I split off your thread. It gets confusing with you have 4 people trying to have their problems fixed in the same thread.
You still need to follow the advice given in that thread. First try it on another computer. As you read in the other thread, none of those people actually had defective discs, as they all worked on other computers. It's much more likely you have a software conflict.
Follow this to rule out software conflicts on your own user account: http://modthesims2.com/showpost.php?p=1969345&postcount=21
If that fails try making a new user account and trying to play the game from there.

Sorry for making it confusing. I've decided my best solution is to try to go back to get a refund on it. Next, buy it directly from EA and download it. Hopefully this works. Thanks for your advice, I tried it, but still does not work. Besides the Deluxe CD, why would they make this for DVD-ROM (which I did try to run it in), instead of regular CD-ROM?

The later EPs were all released on DVD only in Europe, but in the Americas I believe they were DVD or CD right up to AL, which was just DVD.
