PackagedLot file won't work?

I saved a package file of a lot with a family, now I want to restore it, I exited the game and installed the package (it says successfully installed) but my family's still missing and the house's still missing the furniture! :(

guys i managed to restore it but it's weird... i rmb after starting a home business one pissed off customer threw bags on the floor, now the business haven't been started yet but the bags are on the floor already :X

Eep... installing occupied lots is a Very Bad Idea generally leading to corruption and neighbourhood explosion. Still, there's nothing you can do about that now.

Can you not just delete the bags, using moveobjects on if necessary?
