I have read different threads and FAQs but can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for!
I just installed my first EP for Sims2... Pets, and like everyone else am having problems with (some of) my custom content.

:!: What I want to know is, is there a way to fix the problem and keep my custom content or do I have to just remove the faulty files from my downloads folder permanently? :!:

After installing, selecting 'enable custom content', restarting and loading my family's lot I noticed that most of my custom content appeared to be back to normal apart from 3 major things....

:( 1. The reflective 'mirror' floor tiles (I have used through the entire house!) are now showing up black! (not to mention all mirrors in house, even Maxis originals are no longer reflective, just pale blue)
Tiles...

:( 2. My beautiful sims look like zombies! They both have custom content eg: make up, hair, eyes, skin tones, etc; but now they are all blurred and messy and my male sim even has a different shaped face?! (He was a custom sim I downloaded...

:( 3. My beautiful custom wallpapers (courtesy of simsinparis) are showing up but they are all blurred and faded. As are a couple of other objects from the same (amazing) website such as fireplace & rugs.

I really love the sims and home I have created and don't want to have to lose them in order to play the EP. (which I couldn't wait to setup and play  )

Does it make any difference if the custom content is installed AFTER Pets has been installed? Or does some content simply not function with Pets?

Any advice or help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to read my too :D

When installing new EPs, your graphics options usually reset to defaults - which is the lowest settings. Go into the game's graphic options and turn them back up, especially sim/object detail, texture detail, and reflections. That should fix that.

Who new it could be so simple!!! lol
I didn't think I'd get a response today, as opposed to the right one! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with a simple girl :giggler:
I knew there'd be someone out there who knew what they were doing

All back to normal now! ...I did notice when it loaded with the poor graphics how much faster I could pan/zoom/navigate cameras and I just thought "Oh wow the EP must have made it faster" :wtf: idiot
Now that graphics are normal again the game runs at it's jolty half-paced speed... again.

A thousand thanks! I can play my new EP now!

P.S. love the avatar haha
