View Full Version : Crash When Loading Neighborhood from Startup

Okay, I read through the FAQ and really didn't see anything that will help me in this.

Firstly, the computer I'm using has 1.5 GB of ram, I forget how fast the processor is, but it's fast enough to run the Sims 2 with all the expansions installed plus a boatload of custom content. I'm running Windows XP.

I usually don't download pre-made houses because I've had problems in the past, but the houses I downloaded were by someone rather trusted, so I decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, now when I get to the screen to choose a neighborhood, then choose a neighborhood, it starts to load it, for a split second I get to see my neighborhood, then I get the blue screen of death.

I was going to sort through my most recent items in my downloads folder, but then I remembered that houses are installed with an install package and are sent to lord-knows-where that I don't know where to access.

All I really want to know is if there's a way for me to delete all custom houses from my game, or even just houses added recently. If someone could tell me where this info is stored and if it's easily accessible, that would be great.

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:

General - Do the Game Problem FAQ
You appear to have not gone through our main Game Help:Game Problem FAQ. Please go through and do the steps on this FAQ, including any others that it links to (for example the Game Help:Game Problem-Problem Custom Content FAQ).

Usually, in the vast majority of cases, actually going through and doing the steps (doing, not just reading) fixes issues - sometimes you may be asked to remove custom content, or to patch - please rest assured that all of our FAQs have been tested by our staff and volunteers and we wouldn't suggest you do something unless it's been known to fix particular issues.

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

Okay, a simple "this is where your house files are stored" would have sufficed instead of "check the FAQ you stupid noob" which is what you just gave me. As I said, I read the FAQ and just wanted someone to give me a straight, quick answer.

Anyone else willing to be helpful?

Well, you shouldn't just READ the FAQ, but actually do them.
The problem may well not even be in your houses folder.
But if you are wanting to not test that out, your downloaded lots are stored in EA GAMES/Sim2/PackagedLots

I'm going to close this thread, because you have to be willing to take our advice before posting.
