I just can't believe this! I've had my sims 2 for about a month now, and there's has been so many issues that it just can't be true!

Okey. Now when I'm trying to start playing, and after the first loading section is complete, the game stops running and my computer reports about that. I have downloaded less than 1 Gb stuff for my sims and I have only the base game.

This is so annoying...

Have you tried taking out the downloads and launching that way? If that works, it may be something in your downloads that needs a expansion pack.
Unfortunately, the way to find a "bad" download (if someone knows a better way, please speak up), is to put your downloads back in little batches at a time and relaunch the game.
Other little "maybes" -- try deleting the group cache.

Whenever I download new stuff, I keep them in one folder until the game launches successfully. Later, I will move the files into other folders (sort by site). If there's a problem, I can find the bad files in the "new downloads" folder instead of searching the whole thing.

Please go through this: http://www.modthesims2.com/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Game_Problem

Each step, in order. It'll help verify whether the issue is custom content, user files, or what. There are definitely better ways of sorting through downloads than just doing little batches, and if it is downloads, that will walk you through it. It's written for PC but the same basic concepts work on Mac.

Have you recently downloaded the system update for Quicktime? See the post about that.

Thank you everyone!

Lilym29: It could be that there's something that needs an expansion pack that I don't have. Actually I'm pretty sure of it. And thanks for telling your way to download stuff, I'll try it next time too, so this kind of things won't happen again.

HP: Thank you, that was very helpful! I'll try to follow the instructions.

Rhiamom: No, I haven't downloaded that. I saw the warnings about it.

The issue was about the downloads, thanks for help!
