I recently started encountering this problem with my game. The game will run fine, then randomly the picture will freeze, but the mouse and music still play.
It definitely has nothing to do with my graphic card or RAM, my brother built the computer for me and put the best of the best in it. 4gb of RAM, best graphics card, etc. The game used to run fine and amazingly fast, but lately it's been acting up. I can't get the task manager to pop up when it freezes, and alt+tab doesn't work either (or ctrl+tab...i forget which combo. neither work anyway lol.)
I've deleted any new custom content that might have caused it, I've taken out the entire downloads folder and worked on lots with no CC, default characters and lots, etc. and it still happens. Everything loads normally (neighborhoods, switching neighborhoods, loading lots, etc), but it just happens randomly and I just get fed up and reboot the computer.
I did download apartment life, freetime, and mansion & garden packs, and I use an image drive to run the game. but its never caused any problems before soo I dont see that being the reason.
I'm thinking that there's something wrong with the display settings cuz I have messed with those before. I did that a long time ago though and it never caused any problems.
Any suggestions?
