Hello,

In attempting to recolor a bedding file, I learned the 'Build DXT' function in simPe was greyed out and why that was, and SO...

I have followed instructions on installing the latest nVidia DDS Texture Tools, and to complete this installation I was alerted the 'nVida CUDA Toolkit' was not installed and therefore the 'Texture Tools kit' wouldn't work properly so I aborted the 'Texture Tools' installation, installed the 'CUDA ToolKit,' and then proceeded to install the DDS Texture Tools kit.

:help: The problem I am having is when I attempt to install the Texture Toolkit (from here: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/texture_tools.html) the Texture Tools Kit still insists the Cuda kit isn't installed, even though I repeated the Cuda kit installation procedure twice (according to their website here http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html#downloads), and in launching simPe the Build DXT function is still greyed out.

As per another post (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=314836), I attempted through the 'Extras -> Preferences -> System Folders' menu to find the nvdxt.exe file, but it is not where it is supposed to be and I suspect this is because I can't seem to get the DDS Texture Tools Kit to install completely. I just want to make some bedding and move on with my life. :wtf: :D

Any advice? I run Windows Vista 32-bit, which utilizes DX10, and before you suggest that might be the problem please note I have already confirmed Vista 32-bit works fine with simPe and such. :)

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Did you try with the older version? I didn't read through all of what the new CUDA version does, but you can get the older texture tools here (http://developer.nvidia.com/object/nv_texture_tools.html).
