mp3, cell phone, handheld game

I have a sim who's life will be meaningless unless Ishe can purchase a cellphone, a mp3 player and a handheld game. she is a teen and Im not quite ready to send her off to colledge. I have gone to my public lots and looked in vain for the right kioske but have not been able to fine it. I have even tryied to edit the public lots and place a kioske but i dont see it in the options. Does anyone know what catagory the mp3, cell phone, or handheld game kioske is under?

Hold on, your sim's life would be MEANINGLESS without a Cellphone Mp3 player and handheld game? God, commercialisation is terrible. Is there a specific meaning for it, like a story, or do you feel compulsive to technologise your sims?

LOL. For the past 5 sim days she has woken up with the the want , in no particular order, to buy all three of those devilish litte devices and since she has not yet been to colledge and I have the "go to college" want locked. This means that for the past 5 in game days her asperation meter has been steadily falling with no way for me to refill it! It has been most frustraiting. I'll look in electronics as soon as I get home. Thanks!

Watch out, though. When I have my teens go to the community lot to actually BUY one of those, the wants roll over and they suddenly want to get their picture taken, play pool, go swimming, etc. and forget all about what they went there for in the first place.

Well, why don't you cheat for them? It's just a suggestion, and you don't have to do it if you don't like cheats or don't want to but..:
*use the boolprop cheat- handy little bugger!
*shift and left click on this typical teen Sim lol!
*you might have to click on the 'more' option to find them- but you'll find three options:
**cellphone- give cellphone
**MP3- give MP3
**handheld game- give handheld game (or something)

if you don't want the cheat, when you're done, just remove boolprop! When your Sim has these three items, they might still have the want. When they wake up the next day, they should have different wants as they already have the items. (You can check by left clicking the Sim and see if it has 'call' or any phone option; 'listen to music' or something like that and 'play handheld game' or something.
The aspiration meter won't rise as you didn't actually BUY them, but at least the wants will be gone and your Sim will have them!

I find it handy to build a 'want shop'. A one-stop shop for pretty much all of your sim's shopping needs, be it buying clothes, food, gadgets, magazines, games or even pets. Usually I build a lounge into the place for some rec time and a coffee bar (never know if you might need a pick-me-up whjile your sim is there).

But you need to lock a want like that if you are going to visit a lot to fulfil that want without a 'technical fix' like above) as the wants will likely completely change once the sim is at the lot.
