View Full Version : Hair trouble

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else because it's happened to my friends game and to mine. Both were working fine until we DL'd a hack called clothing equality from more awesome than you. All our babies are now bald and when they grow to a child the boys get a hideous bowl cut and the females a ponytail, none of the genetic hair seems to work. We've both since uninstalled the hack thinking that was the problem, but it's still doing it in both games. Also she has recolored a few hair meshes, could this may be the cause? Any ideas thanks.

Are you using custom hair, or is it categorized into the color bins?
If it's not custom, you're just going to get any hair in that color, not specifically the one you gave the parent.
I don't think that mod would change how hair gets inherited...it might be a Pets problem as well, people have been having problems with hair since installing the patch.

Yeah most of my hair is custom, i mean it's not a big deal and I usually end up ,aking over my kids anyway. I'm just puzzled at what causes this.

This issue is related to the Pets patch -- it seems that somehow the numbers for hairtone and skintone got mixed up.
I'm in the middle of a birth cycle right now and I've seen a correlation between messed up hair color and skintone. From what I've seen:
Babies with S1 (or any relevant default replacement) always have black hair;
S2: brown hair
S3: blond hair
S4: red hair
(this same pattern seems to also show in the NPC's with messed up hair)
In all of these cases the dtString value is identical.
In the case of babies born with custom skintone, there is no match here and the babies end up bald (mostly alien births for testing purposes, but also in the case of a baby born in my merge hood today expressing a geneticized custom skin tone).
Kakashi Hatake, I presume you're playing with mostly non-default custom skintones?

So this means that the Pets Patch needs to be patched?
Is that something that someone in the community can fix, or are we going to have to wait for the Pets patch number 2?

My babies (irrelevant of what the parents hair colour or skintone is) always seem to end up blond for some odd reason....
I did notice that the vampire's hairtones are different from their pictures, is this because of the patch too?
Is there a way to remove the patch without re-installing? These little things it seems to have brought with it are really starting to annoy me, I'd rather have the original bugs that came with pets.
