Well, its three months until they release the new EP, and We already ahve seen the trailer and the gist of it based on the box, and I'm sure that soon enough there will be a fansite play date for the new EP,b ut that is netiher here nor there. So what do you think so far? You liking it, hating it, thinking it'll fail? You reckon you'll buy it quick or wait a while or not at all?

I'm unsure on it at the moment. At first I thought it was a rather lame idea to 'waste' an EP on hobbies but the more information we get, the more I'm starting to like the look of it.

I think it's gonna be pretty good, not as good as what everyone's expecting now, but satisfactory. But there hasn't been a lot of solid information, so I can't really say.

It's awesome, I'm definitely buying (OK, I'd buy it even if it was total crap but still.. It's awesome.) :)

Not sure yet. At first I thought... "Hobbies? What am I supposed to expect of this?" It seemed rather boring. Then, when we got new information about the different hobbies, I started feeling more optimistic (mainly because of Cooking and possible Magic). But now that there won't be magic in it after all... meh. I don't think I'll buy it.

I am really liking the looks of this expansion pack...I just don't know if my computer could handle it all. I like all the extra "skilling" available in the game. It gives sims more to do, they can finally play sports (been waiting for that for awhile) and in the video, they seem as if they can also play the violin (still crossing my fingers for other instruments)

It look interesting, but with Eaxis fondness for undiscovered bugs and "hidden content" (Translated: Just put it in and let the community finish fixing it up. We need to start shipping now.") we tend to prefer waiting until it has been out long enough for some of the problems to be fixed.

I've been hooked since I saw the violin. Finally, now I can see Sephiroth playing the violin.

I think it's going to be awesome!

I find it to get kind of boring sometimes, what with the few things that my sims are able to do.

Now they're going to be so busy, they aren't going to be sure what to do with what little time they're going to have in-between doing stuff.

Maybe sleeping?

Or eating. Eating might be good for them too.

That's my main problem with this EP, right there. *points to post above*
With each EP, my sims get less and less time to do what they're "supposed" to be doing. Or rather, I'm so busy keeping them doing what they're supposed to be doing, that I never find the time to explore the new features. *s*
Which is why I've been hoping for an EP that will not add more things to do, but rather other ways of doing them. Sort of. Like a medieval-themed EP. :)

But I'm sure I'll grow to like this one as well. It's happened with all the other EP's, so I don't see why this would be an exception.

I'm especially looking forward to the ballet. Maybe now my favorite sim can open a dance studio, like I've been wanting her to for ages.

I like the fact they do the object things, Its like easter eggs in other games (Like in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, how you can see the Tommy Vercetti and Lance Vance dolls in Zero's RC store)

Although when they out them up for download later, that's crap.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it as soon as it comes out, although I miss all my hacks!

I'm looking forward to this EP - ever since I discovered snapdragons my sims don't have much to do with their time except play chess with their already maxed out logic skills

Not really sure how I feel about it yet, I'll make out my mind when I have more information. I think some of the things look quite interesting - building the car, the sewing. I'm quite looking forward to the cooking.
But like the rest, even if I'm not interested, I'll be buying it anyway.

I actually like this EP. I saw some pictures over at TS2.com and it looks very interesting. I love how sims can work on cars, and they have extra stuff for toddlers. Thats what made very happy! So I am very excited about this one.

I'm just afraid of all the bugs. It looks very good, but I'll wait awhile for all the borks to be worked out before I buy it.

yayayayayayaa!
Excellent!
Free time gives cool activities such as ballet and astronomy! I'm looking so forwards to have the Curious brothers look for planets. And I used to dance ballet in many years but I'm not doing it now. Very unique hobbies. Car fixing, ballet, astronomy, music, cooking. If it was only ball games I would be pissed but it turns out to be loads of hobbies.
Bon Voyage was a waste of time and money. I'm nearly never sending my sims on holiday. Twikkii, Three Lakes and Takemizu are all childish clichés and this EP is just an improved version on the sims 1 Holiday EP.

While I'm all psyched about the violin and stuff, I'm a little leery about how well they'll put this together -- so far, the past three EP's have been the worst for some people, and have caused loads of unneccesary problems for some (not all, but some).

So - I'm unsure if I'll actually like it or not *shrug*

Looks good to me so far! :)

I have to say I was sceptial about it at first, but after watching the video and reading the magazine thing on the website, I'm sold. It looks much much better than I thhought it was going to be.

When I saw Bon Voyage, I said I wouldn't be buying anymore of these silly expansions. My computer probably won't be able to handle it! However, Free Time had me hooked the moment I saw it. I'm really psyched for this EP!

I can't wait to see my sims spend their time doing things other then watching television.

When I first saw the basic idea for the expansion pack 'hobbies' i was like what a load of crap and a pointless expansion, but then i saw the car building screen shot and im being won over on the idea, i am still however not entierly sure about it but you never know!

See, that's the kind of thinking that strikes me as odd (note: I'm not referring to you specifically, xJazminx, because you started to give the EP a chance quite quickly, but you just reminded me). I don't see why some players get the first of the faintest whiffs of a new EP and instantly dislike it. People want to make assumptions about what's going to be in the game from the very start AND dislike their own assumptions. Ever since the slightest hint that the EP would be about hobbies, people were whinging - and that's the broadest premise we've had for an EP yet, so it could have contained anything (and it turns out contains more than I was actually expecting, so the moral here is that we all make quick judgements :D).

EDIT: oops, forgot to put my own opinion. I like what I see so far, but it's still pretty hard to say whether I'll like it or not, so I voted just for the sake of voting :)

I'm still somewhat undecided. Most of it looks wonderful, but..I dunno, to me it still kinda has the feel that we're getting a big stuff pack as our final EP.
But I dunno. Maybe that'll change as we get more news or once I play it.

I'm a bit sceptical but I'm always like that with new EPs. It sounds pretty good tough. I hate it how all they really do is watching TV. I just hope they won't screw things up again. TV is often the best solution because it raises comfort, fun and social unlike for example reading or playing the piano. So I really hope the new activities will be more fun than annoying, that they will offer more and not be full of little annoyances.
I'm gonna wait and see what the other people/reviewers think about the EP. After that I may buy it or not. And lets not forget the SecuROM issue. I'm pretty sure it's included once again. I don't want to screw my computer up.

I'm pretty sure it's included once again. I don't want to screw my computer up.

Now they have removal tools on the official site, so if you don't want to play with securom on it, it will be removed. They have it for all of the SP/EPs now that came with securom in fact.

I'm still not too sure about this EP at the minute. It does look pretty good, much better than I could ever have thought an expansion pack about hobbies could look. I did think it was a rather odd, new idea at first but it does have potential. I just hope its a great EP addition to the collection and it offers more stuff to do at home so I rekon I'll buy it.
