What is the name of your custom neighborhood, or do you have a few? Do you have a cute and clever set of names for your sub-hoods? Tell us all about them!

I only have one custom neighborhood and it's named Yahana Valley. Don't ask where I got it from, I just made it up. LOL I love it and it's the only neighborhood I play.

My first custom neighbourhood was called Shangri-La, the second Alpintown. After that came many more that i can't remember, but my current one is Dommeville (it's in the proces of getting replaced) and the next is yet undecided.
Montridge
17th Jun 2007, 03:18 PM
The first thing I did was delete the three premade hoods and created Montridge.
I now have Legacey Falls and Friendly. Both of those are basically Legacey type games.
Echo is the hood I use to tell Sim stories.
I made a neighborhood (the name escapes me) that I put people from books and T.V. shows in, but got sick of it and deleted it.
I did make a custom college in Friendly (Pembroke University) so my Sims can brag that they went to P.U. :)

I had a Shangri-La also. Although perfection it wasn't. And dozens of other neighborhoods I can't remember. My latest is my sci-fi neighborhood Traznok.
ETA: I'm going to be creating my Lord of the Flies/Castaway Island next so if anyone has used or knows an appropriate name then please, please share. I'm terrible at naming things.

when i put my game on my new computer, i deleted all the maxis hoods and made my own, Dawncrest, named after a neighborhood in my hometown. Thats the only one I have now but I had a few in older installs on the other computer, Beaver Creek and Persimmon (also hometown neighborhoods, Persimmon being the one that my parents live in) being two of the most popular. I'm not a big fan of themed neighborhoods, being a bit too lazy to have to go through all the themed downloads and keep specific neighborhoods in them. :D

I made a new Riverblossom Hills - its my favourite neighbourhood ever, filled with victorian style houses. Second neighbourhood is called Saint-Saens, it has a gothic theme.
Third is Rio Grande Do Sul, an exotic place.
Fourth is Palookaville, an alien weirdo nbhood. It was the name of a record and I don't know what it means..

My sims all live in Massachussettes. In very organised ways. Each street has a number and so does each house. Differnt places have names too. So the houses are like, Milan Bay 1.1, or Cittagazze 2.4.

The only custom neighborhood that's worked for me was made by my sister. She called it Alice Springs. She says she got it from a book.

My first custom neighborhood (that I remember..) was named Davorcica. It was like one big massive soap opera. It eventually got way too massive, so I created a backup of it and then deleted it from my game.
Storybook Village is my contest and photoshoot neighborhood, which has been deleted and remade several times.
Perdition is my 1930's mafia 'hood. Everyone's Omerta counterparts live here. Named for the movie Road to Perdition.
Wisteria Lane was my first modern 'hood since I purged my downloads folder of everything that was not period authentic. I played it right up until two of my favorite Sims completely disappeared - I ruined the neighborhood after trying to get them back and was forced to delete it. Named after Desperate Housewives. :D
Davis Junction was my first attempt at restoring my modern 'hood after Wisteria Lane got majorly borked. I got tired of the layout after about three days and deleted it. It was named after an actual town in Illinois.
Isla Royale is my current modern neighborhood - it's a pristine little Florida Keys island for the well-off. Named after Casino Royale, my favorite Bond movie.

1. Les Mis (Full Version) -I'm making a Sim Movie of Les Miserables, but at the moment I'm having a break from it.
2. Miss Saigon -Same as previous.
3.Revveria -I don't know where I got the name from-just made it up!
4. Turning Boulevard -Turning is a song in Les Miserables

I like to take common words and put it them in Spanish or French to make them sound more exotic. Nueva Verde was the first of many I did along this theme. I've lived in several towns that had names like that ... Villa Rica and Punta Gorda for example. In English those names wouldn't be so great.

Palm Springs is my main neighbourhood. It has a desert terrain and everyone is really into money, and making pretty kids. The ugly ones don't get to pass on their genetics.
Utopia is where all my favourite sims are backed-up to, and live lives of luxury.
Sweet Valley has all my fantasy/custom skin sims, which are really just normal sims with different skin tones and un-natural eyes. I don't use cheats in this one.

My custom neighborhood is Sauveterre Isle. It's french for "safe haven" and is a town in France. I simply added 'Isle' due to the fact that it is one.
Tramen

Mine is currently "Fane of the Drow", which is a location name within the role-playing game "Dungeons and Dragons" - I am slowly turning my townies into drows to keep in tune with the name.

Cake Town, after the 300 PG trailer.

I started off with a neighbourhood called Littleville and I had it in Veronaville so I had Creepside - trailers run down shops etc and Townside - condos, villas etc, only I found myself playing Creepside lots more so I renamed it Creepside and now its just a run down little shack of a neighbourhood, but I love it,
I named my boyfriend's neighbourhood Otimani, I don't knowwhere that came from

I love making neighborhoods. I have Garden Grove, a farming and fishing village. I have the 3 maxis ones, I have Autumn Bay (my favorite), Caine Forest (fairy village)
and I also have a hawaiian village (Kailua Beach). I love making neighborhoods!

For the longest time, I would create custom neighborhoods like mad, and name them all simple letters. a,b,c,d and so on (at one point I had a thru p - custom neighborhood overload)... but recently, I'm taking a break from making houses and objects and I've actually been playing a family that is almost to it's third generation (wow) and I have them in a neighborhood named "Winchestertonfieldville" - which was the name of the town that Winona Ryder's character made up in the movie Mr.Deeds (and also partly inspired by my avi, chester)

I have this one Custom Neighborhood that I play like all the time called Party City. I have everyone from all my neighborhoods Maxis made or not in that neighborhood. And let me tell you everyone is related to everyone in some way or another it is just funny.

Tramen! Another excellent icon!! Love the Master/Sam!
All of my custom neighborhood have very boring names that just indicate to me which theme it is. My Star Trek neighborhood is called Star Trek, my Harry Potter neighborhood is called Rowling, and my Royal Kingdom neighborhood is called Historia.
Very dull, I know. However, when looking for cool names for streets or last names for Sims I look up place names online for fun.

I only have one custom neighborhood called Nyestaville. Right now it is almost entirely populated by the Tourney family. They have overrun Gingham Court, though I am planning on moving two of the kids to Beechwood Avenue. Methinks I am going to need more street names.

I name all mine after towns in Stephen King novels, haha. I renamed Pleasantview Castle Rock, I made a custom filled with vampires called Jerusalem's Lot, deleted Strangetown and Veronaville, and renamed Riverblossom Hills Derry.

I still have Pleasantview. It has two downtowns: the default downtown and Cardinal Island. It has the default shopping district, and a default college (Academie de Tour).
We still have Strangetown, though my daughter has been pestering me to get rid of it and start again with a new neighborhood. We haven't done a whole lot with it.
There's Oasis Island, one of the custom neighborhoods. I didn't realize there was already an Oasis Valley in the game, but I like the island name, anyway. It also has two downtowns: the default downtown, renamed Lyla City, as well as Supernova. Morning Glory is the name of the shopping district. Yes, there was a theme going on there! :) There is a default college. I suppose I should rename that one, too, to keep with the theme.
The other custom neighborhood is Nocturne Island. I guess I like islands! I find them easy to view and manage. The rule my daughter and I have when we create Sims for this island: no "normal" Sims. We create only aliens, vampires, elves or other fantasy beings for this neighborhood. And no "normal" skintones. This is where we can experiment to our heart's content with Enayla's skins or other great skin colors. The downtown is Onyx City, and the shopping district is Treefrog. The college is a default one.
Veronaville is gone. Pfffft. Neither of us liked it.

My only custom hood is named Greenfield. I don't know where that came from, I guess it has something to do with my current obsession with color green.

I deleted the Maxis hoods, and left just Riverblossom Hills and Veronaville as a "testing" neighbourhood cuz love the neighbourhood I made, Sweet Valley, very much. I'm sure you all know where that came from! lol. I used to love the book series back in schooldays so I decided to make the neighbourhood complete with the characters.
I even made their ancestors in the victorian era, and now they're in the parents' generation. The Wakefield twins and their gang are just waiting to be born in-game now. I thought that would make the game a lot more interesting to play! I planned and mapped everyone's life very carefully. And I tried to follow the storyline as in the book as accurately as possible.
Hood: Sweet Valley, California
Downtown: Downtown L.A. (for the rich, urban families)
Uni: Sweet Valley University!
I dont have a sub.
Ain't it all so cute?

I've made three neighborhoods so far. I usually play with them for about a year before it starts to get glitchy or there are too many Sims!
Lime Tree Grove
Oak Towne
Birchshire
Can you tell I like trees? :) I like my newest neighborhood the most because it's the most organized. I drew a map for myself and gave all of the streets names. Helps me name the houses! And I have a "founder family" with the last name Birch.

I have several custom neighborhoods. My first, and the one I play with the most often, is Suburban Bohemia (inspired by the Dandy Warhols song "Bohemian Like You"). Its huge, to the point of being unmanageable... I also have Burtonesque (a new neighborhood with a distinctively "Gothic" edge) and Banlieu, a French neighborhood

I'm planing a neigbourhood called Peyton View, and the downton district will be called Pasadena and the business district will be called Paxton Falls.
I'll also make a smaller neighbourhood called Cherry Blossom or something like that.

Ioften use neighbourhood names based on books I've read or from songs etc. One of the first ones was Narnia, at the moment I've got one called Otherland and one called Sumerland. But I scrap neighbourhoods quite often as I get bored so need to keep coming up with new names.

I've been mainly using Pleasantview, but my custom neighborhoods are Maiden (setting for my Zombie challenge, because I needed a whole different neighborhood for that), Summer City (the setting for my story) and Phoenix, which is my hometown and has the sim version of my family in, as well as some other people.

Uhm.... My main neighborhood with Maleki and my self sim and all those sims is called Devereux Village. When I started it I had a village founder family called(you guessed it) The Devereux' the entire family is unfortunately deceased(not my fault*whistles*), but that neighborhood is starting to get overly crowded so I recently started a new neighborhood called Simona Hills, and the first family I put it there? My legacy, lol, second family was a clone of Maleki and a sim I made that was meant to look like a friend, I failed miserably, but I liked her so she got kept :D So the neighborhood is very empty right now, but that never lasts long

I'm terrible when it comes to naming my neighborhoods. Contest sims go in "Contest Land", legacy sims go in "Legacy Town."

Same for me here. :D
My legacy sims leave in Legacyville. I must check though. I don't really remember the name of the neighborhood because I didn't play there since a long time.
Contest sims go in "Concours". Concours means "contest" in French. :p
Challenge sims go in "Defissimsville". I used to play the game by doing short challenges and it's named after my website. :p

Hubress (sp?) Point is the neighborhood that I currently play. None of the sims talk to one another, and all have large pockets! :) (Seems like the subdivision next to me)
I actually named the neighborhood that because my parents made fun of the nbhood next door, and I created it to poke fun, but it turns out that it actually is fun.

My favorite neighborhood to play is Matthews City which i cant even remember why i named it that...the sub neighborhoods are so cleverly named downtown Matthews City and Uptown Matthews City (the shopping district-esque neighborhood)
I also used to have a victorian neighborhood named St. Brittania but i deleted that one a while ago because i never really played it.
Oh and then theres my 'experimentation' neighborhood aptly named E.G.E. Co. which stands for Evil Genius Experimentation Company. Yea that was a fun one. i remember i used to have a house and i tried to get these sims to each die naturally from all the different ways to die so i could have all the ghost colors on one lot. i also built this huge modern house and put in two people named test subject 1 and test subject 2 but then the house was so massive that the game would barely even run. good times, good times :)

12th Jul 2007, 04:32 PM
The one and only 'hood I play is Suldanessellar, though I typoed it and it is one L short so it's "Suldanesselar". It's an Elven city from Baldur's Gate II. The story I have on the 'hood is that it's builded near ruins of ancient Elven city. I have some pointy ear types living there. I made my own Drow skins very early on. I also have a club house named after the city's queen in BG2.
The satellite 'hoods (university, downtown, shopping district) are Maxis defaults just slightly customised. Was too lazy to completely build my own instances of those.

I just made a new one the other day called Dandridge City and I quite like it. It's for all my sims with custom skin and eyes as I don't feel like putting those in my regular hood because they mess with the whole genetics aspect of the game.. :)

I have Lullaby Springs; which I think came from an advert for some obscure water company! I also have Godrics Hollow and Hogsmeade because I'm a loser.
I got rid of Veronaville because it irks me but I play a lot in Pleasantview!

I ignore the maxis made neighborhoods and steal the cool-designed houses, then move them into my current neighborhood ;) I am going to create my own soon.. At least when i figure out how,.. Google it :) My Neighborhood names were and are:
Jericho - Will be my next.. (also my favorite)
BrightBridge - Last :smash:
IncyIsle - Current :P
Although i sometimes add names after them like Coastline, Beach, Hills.
I got Jericho from the show. lol. <3 That name..

I have Kingly and Corrin County.
Kingly, I'm not entirely sure why I named it that. I made it back when I first got the game. All but one inhabitant and his kids have Maxis skins and eyes.
And Corrin County I wnted something with the initials CC because that wsa going to be where all my sims with Custom Content were placed.

I had a neighborhood I called "Victoria" with nothing but Victorian style houses and shops, and sims in Victorian clothes and hairstyles. But it was really lame so I murdered it.

7th Aug 2007, 01:22 AM
I seem to like the word "Azure" a bit too much, because I used it on at least 2 Sims neighborhoods. For example, "Azure Isles". I guess it's because azure is one of my favorite colors, and the word itself is pretty.
I've got ones named:
--Badlands, after the national park (of course, it's a desert terrain). It houses a self-Sim, and also a custom downtown with plasticbox's Backdoor Lane lots. It's my newest custom 'hood.
--Eureka!, for my alphabet LC (which has a math theme), because it's what Archimedes uttered when he discovered the concept of using displacement to measure the volume of irregular objects. Considering it's 27 generations, the Perimetron Family is the only one in the entire neighborhood.
--Phoenix Valley, which has mostly challenge households (Poverty, Free Will, one LC family). It's also the 'hood in which I do wacky experiments on my Sims.
--Emerald Lake, again with random Sims.

I'm not so good at coming up with neighborhood names, and most of the ones I had before sucked and were really plain. So I won't name any of them. lol. I deleted all them neighbourhoods and made a new one. So at the moment my main & most played neighborhood is Pine Vista :p Pretty random, I know. But oh well. Its the hood that pretty much all my sims live in... And its got much nicer houses, etc. lol. My sims seem to like it.

Victoria is filled with legacy sims and challenges while
Chelsea is my house building neighborhood, nobody but townies live there.
Hillstone Falls, my favorite of all three of them, has about 5 households, all related, and 15-20 businesses! Don't you just love 'business' legacys? :D

I currently have 4 custom neighbourhoods, but I only really play 2 of them currently, although that might change after Bon Voyage.
Internet Isle - Home of all the Self-Sims of other people.
Happy Pines Retreat - My video game character's neighbourhood. Currently home to most of Organisation XIII, Final Fantasy VII Sims, Final Fantasy VIII Sims, and two child versions of Fou-Lu and Ryu from Breath of Fire 4. Plus some Sephiroth clones from a fanfic that I fell in love with.
Avalon - Place for all my fantasy-style Sims, but it's a bit empty, and will probably be remade once Bon Voyage is out.
Contestville - The land where all my contest Sims roam!

I noticed that there are not a few names that end in "-ville". All I can say is the people who come up with them are smart, sassy and very good-looking. That's from the bottom of my heart and not meant to be sarcastic.
My current neighborhood is 'Metroville'. It's an amalgam of Metropolis and Smallville, yes Superman references both. I use IslaSegundo coz I like little cozy islands with tall peaks. Metroville I try as much as possible to be a purist i.e. play without cheats.
My 'obsolete' 'hood also uses that terrain - 'Lone Peak' I called it. I don't use this hood as much now coz I messed it up a bit with some deletions and memory tampering.
I have another 'hood which I use for experimentations using the Driftwood terrain. It's where I go when I get impatient to check out all the new stuff of a newly installed EP. The Insimenator's a permanent fixture there.

24th Aug 2007, 11:43 AM
I have 3 custom neighbourhoods.
New Venice - this uses the Veronaville template. This is my favourite because I have spent lots of time perfecting storylines and family histories and relationships, although most of the houses and lots are mis-matching because I have moved some houses from other neighbourhoods here. They have family names like 'Cannaregio' and 'Dorsodoro'. I have storylines like the Cannaregio family have split and are named after the original head of each family branch, such as the 'Marino Cannaregio', 'Lillani Cannaregio', and 'Prosper Cannaregio', although their family names are still Cannaregio.
Cairo - Only 1 or 2 families on this neighbourhood, its the driftwood design and sandy.
Medieval Neighbourhood - named so because its... well, medieval. Hard to enforce that when the sims keep wanting expensive televisions.

I've actually been playing the same neighborhood since I first took Sims 2 outta the box, and that's New Terra. This neighborhood is on its 6th generation currently, and was started way back in 2004 with the Famiglia de Terra family and the Blaylock family.
Only recently, I created a second neighborhood called Rampage Forest. I made Rampage Forest with the intention of using it as the backdrop for some Stories here in the Forum :)

My current favorite neighborhood is Lake Maunawaukee, a four-season "American Dream" type village. I am still in the process of filling it with shopping centers and restaurants but It's well on it's way to becoming quite charming :]
Other names I've used in the past are, Pinesview which was an all-winter neighborhood, Palmetto Run, a tropical hood, and Valientropolis, a metropolitan city.

Summerset - This was my favorite neighborhood Ive ever made. Unfortunately, I lost it to a nasty case of "boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true". Im telling ya, it screws with your game royally.
Plainview - This is my most populous neighborhood, which houses such families as the Krinkle's, Troii's, Cañizares' and Marcus'. I love this hood!
Simville - This is my newest addition (not counting PleasantStangeVille), which holds places for my Hart, Braamen and Damar Families.

I don't have any custom hoods at all right now, and I've only ever had one. I guess I just like the Maxis hoods for some reason. Usually, I just clean all the 'undesirables' and their homes out of a Maxis hood and play there. It's easier 'cuz all the community lots and trees and stuff are all already there. My only custom hood got lost in my last reinstall. (I was upset about that. I put a lot of time into that neighborhood....) It was called Locke Canyon. A nice, generic name. 90 percent of its inhabitants were aliens. :anime:

My neighborhood names really stink. =/
I have "Renvista", my first custom neighborhood since I reinstalled the Sims. I screwed up one of my college families and had to delete them, and I haven't had much motivation to play that neighborhood for awhile.
My most played neighborhood is "Monokei", which is almost filled up with houses I downloaded from Sims 2 Heaven.
My last neighborhood is "Evorica". I created it hoping to fill it with fantasy sims- elves, satyrs, fairies, etc, but I deleted all my fantasy CC because it was slowing down the game, and haven't played it since.

The Neighborhood I play all the time is called Estraya Valley (an intentional misspelling of Estrella), its vampire themed downtown is Midnight Falls (because I have a thing for bad puns). It also has a shopping district which I kind of forget the name of—it’s either Estraya Valley East or Stormy Hills, I think— and a really creatively named university: EV University.

I always name my custom neighbourhood Starfall, though it's been often deleted and restarted. But the name's always the same. Simply loving it. <3
Actually Starfall was my second attempt to find a suiting name. The first was Stars Hollow, copied of the TV series "Gilmore Girls". I also loved that name but it still was a copy. And after a brainstorming Starfall came to my mind. I'm feeling much more comfortable with that.

My current neighborhood is called Winchester Village. It's a small, but growing community of suburban homes. It has a short, but interesting story about it:
Winchester Village was founded in 1996 by the Sim City Local Government to help with the population boom in the local suburbs. Recently, the town has been growing rapidly and more and more sims are moving into the area. But, will the town always be peaceful as it is now? You'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I made a custom neighborhood right after I got the game. Named it "Sweeping Plains" because it was the only thing I could think of after staring at the terrain for a while. Other than that, I just tend to create a neighborhood for each challenge I do. The first Apocalypse challenge, I named "Blighted Waste." The second one is just "Apocalypse Again." So creative, I know. The email challenge was just "email challenge" and the poverty challenge was "Po-town" or something like that.
Then I made a couple more, Kemerya Island, with an associated "downtown" island called Sheyic Island. Also made another island named "Yameria" and its downtown is creatively named "Downtown."

It was kind of cute on my last make of it, but it ended up being a little bit of... something I didn't want, so I scrapped it.
My latest one that I just started (and haven't done any actual playing in, really) is called North Rugnica; with all of the subhoods, it's going to encompass an entire world, essentially, but the main neighborhood is the only one I've started to create so far.

I think its better to just use one neighbourhood, and then you can add other connected locations as the shopping districts for the main hood, otherwise they exist seperately. This way you can concentrate on building up one area with more focus, and all my sims co-exist in the same "universe", made up of how many conjoined areas you like.
I mean, what if you build up a really nice swimming baths in Veronaville, then your Pleasantville sims can't visit it!!!
I also use the gunmod camera hack so I can see where the roads lead off to. They all interconnect, as you can see here:
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg160/tizerist/map1.jpg
1= downtown
2= veronaville
3= custom waterfront map
4= bluewater
5= la fiesta tech
6= sim stae university
7= academie le tour
if i need to add in, example pleasantview, as another housing area i will simply make it the western part of area 6 :)
also the whole "state" is now called Pine Lake. Downtown has become Pine Lake City Centre, Veronaville is Pine Lake Suburbs, and Sim State is Pine Lake University. Helps for the sense of cohesion.

The main neighbourhood I play in is my custom neighbourhood, Gren Ville. Small, but cosy.

I can never be bothered to think of names for my neighbourhoods, so I end up using the names of the terrains like Arbordale and Viper Canyon.

My favourite is called Harley Town/City.
It's my medieval/renaissance/romantic era 'hood, because I have so many beautiful medieval dresses and clothes and I'm so strict I wouldn't let my "normal time" Sims wear them. I don't play it very often as its a fledging neighbourhood so it is very underpopulated - only about 2 or 3 families - which annoys me. However I love playing it; so much fun making a few noble/rich families and making up intricate soap-like storylines.

I have just one custom hood right now, called District Seven, and it's the only one I play. Not very creative I know, but I'm really bad at naming. I used to also have a hood called Rosario Islands, but I deleted that soon after its creation X)
No subhoods right now, and I don't plan to have any. They're a pain to have because of all the loading time and everything.

My neighborhood is called Seaside (am I creative or what?). Every single sim there lives on a beach lot, so it's a fitting title.

I recently reinstalled so I need to make some new hoods. I have a formula for naming them though. I take the name of a tree and add a synonym for a land mass (ex. mountain, valley, lake etc.). In the past I've used: Laurel Ridge, Oak Crest, Cedarmont, Pine Vale and on and on :) The possibilities are limitless.

Currently: Denali River with subhoods of City College and Saint Grenadine (My version of Saint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles).
My previous neighbourhood was Carbon Creek (though the river was wider than Denali River). Got that name from an episode of Enterprise.

i haven't used the maxis neighborhoods since i was learning to play the game when it first came out...i played my own sims in Strangetown for a while back then with a legacyesque family, but my comp got a virus and i didn't know how to backup files, lol. so innocent :)
after my computer's little episode years ago, i've been playing my custom neighborhood called History. Which is a totally nerdy neighborhood where the original families started as Tudor and Merovingian and everyone else has names like Medici and Carolingian. :D (can u tell i first thought of it during European History?)

I like maps, the kind where you can see every cute town, bridge and hill, and I also really like to search for nice village names. If I didn't already have two neighbourhoods I liked, I'd have plenty of other options!
Like...
Tifford
Millbridge
Grovely Wood (forest, those have nice names too)
Harewood Forest
Freshwater
Brighstone Forest
Ringwood Forest
Broom Hill
Witchampton
Appleton
Applestead
Applefield
Appleford
(can you tell I like apples?)
Ashridge College
Quainton (aww)
Chimney (really!)
Taynton
Winkfield ;)
Drayton
Wychwood
Snowshill
Kingsclear
Goodwood House
Amberley
A whole list! They all come from a map from Southern England.
I have a mediaeval village called Tinn, and a modern one called Ambleside, which is linked to Clappersgate (Gateway College) and Ribblefield. :D

Heh, one of my hoods is named Driftwood as well. It was my main hood before I made a new one (now it's the home of all my challenges and the sim families I abandoned when I went to play my new hood more).
My other , newer, hood is Tempest Lagoon. Which indeed has a lagoon on the map and is basically a tropical island (only summer and spring).

Hmm I've had several custom hoods.
The one I miss the most is the one I had to delete when my comp burned through.
It was called: Simple Sims Networks Isle
I had it set up as a sort of big brother goes island style thing.
My current hood is named Londonerié Isle. I named all of the streets after subway stations/real London streets. It just has the University subhood at this point.

I've only had 4 custom neighborhoods ever.
First and most loved was SongCity. All my random families would go there. I deleted it recently. (sniff)
Oddsville (lol, aren't I creative?) Had the "too strange for strangetown" theme. Deleted because it was boring.
Beverly Mountains. Was going to be for all my famous sims, but it never really took off. Deleted.
FINALLY, my one left custom neighborhood, Sleepy Hollow. Home of my legacy simmies. :)

Current-
Smeeville: Land of the fat and ugly
Lunten: Generation challenge town
Arroyo Grande: Quiet suburb with huge shopping district and small community colleges
Grover Creek: I made some famous people here like Adam Sandler, Lil' C, and Mariah Carey.
Deleted-
Lukenberg: Home of the people in costumes!
Argo: Where I made everyone have a home biznus
Frellburg: Where I made families with ghosts in a backyard graveyard
Hobby City: Each family has a certain hobby to have max enthusiasm in.
I am re-making Grover Creek so it can be an apartment town. Oh and are the legacy things your talking about with life stories??

Hawthorne - I was stuck for a name so I turned on my iPod and up came 'Hawthorne Heights'. Haha. Pretty lame. But Hawthorne is also the AFL footy team me and my mate barrack for! :P Anyway, Hawthorne is really, really new. It's basically at the mo a little seaside village with a few colourful shacks and alot of pretty cottages.
Before that, I had Diamond Hills, a hollywood-type place where everyone was rich and beautiful. Got pretty boring :) I also had Papaya Island, a colourful little island with some old families. I loved that 'hood, but my computer crashed and I lost everything :(

Avondale -- Named after a town in Louisiana, located just across the river from New Orleans. I did a custom map based on Pleasantview, with most of the high elevations leveled and more streets added, and added another island to the bay. Very gothic. Has a large French Quarter like New Orleans.
Port Royal -- Avondale's downtown, located further along the bay. Also very gothic.
Salem -- Avondale's shopping district -- no businesses there yet, I'm still filling up the other two. A little wilder, more hills, also located on the bay.

The first is The Disc and houses my two legacies. The university is Unseen University, the shopping district and downtown are Ankh and Morpork respectively. All the houses are named using the same theme (except one which is the TARDIS). Guess what themes I'm using for my legacies ;)
The other neighbourhood is for a prosperity and is New Tamriel, the university is the only subhood I've customised so far and is the Arcane University.

He he, some great names out there guys ^^ I particularly like the hoods named after they're purposes, like the story telling hoods and such.
My Veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrry first custom hood ever was Babylon hights, now this is back when I did'nt really know what the games limitations, the idea was to have high rise appartments with the poorest of society living on the bottom and the wealthiest living near the top.I'm thinking of reviving the project now that appartments is out, although I now realise how politically incorrect the idea is :p.
Since then there was Naas (my hometowns actual name)
Mt.Eco named for the distinctive mountain in the Nhood terrain.
When OFB came out I got bored with Eco and created Shadeleaf Bay, named after a place in Oblivion called Shadeleaf Copse.
Then came Verande Point which I trashed very quickly due to the crappy terrain.
I started work on a medevil style kingdom called Ceyteril, then remembered how much I hated the whole medevil theme, and trashed the project :p
Verande was replaced by Brookes Gate, which I now play and am very proud of, I adore it, ^^
