Downloads folder size: 465 MB- 1,606 Files, 44 Folders (this is after playing TS2 on my current computer for four weeks!)
SavedSims folder size: 7.86 MB
I have a lot of hacks in my game (by Pescado and TwoJeffs) including the ever-popular ACR. As for CC, it's mostly clothes and lots. I should probably organize my stuff, but meh... I just throw it in the Downloads folder. Thank god for the search bar!

Mine is 2.81 GB with 7450 files and 126 folders. The only subfolder I've created myself is one for hacks. Otherwise it's completely disorganised!!
I feel a bit better though looking through the thread and seeing people with 6 and 7 gigs of files, but then again I think my little laptop would burst into flames if it had to cope with that much. It's slow enough loading the Sims 2 as it is!!
Most of my content is made up of hair and clothing, but I also have a ridiculous amount of make up (Who needs a billion different shades of pink lipgloss in their downloads folder... Oh, right. Apparently I do.) and I think I also have an excesssive amount of custom eyebrows. Again, who needs so many different types of brows? ...Don't answer that.
I think I need to do some major culling (juding by my loading time) but I'm not entirely sure if deleting certain things that might be in use will stuff up my game, i.e. makeup/eyebrows etc. I'll have to look into that...

Lilyandsnuggles Nope, not really a lot.
*blink* Prosthetics, that is a LOT of folders you've got there.
I don't really download anything new since I have about 3 games going all with their separate CC, but here is my "main game" Custom Content stuff.
2.85 GB, 11927 files, 748 folders.
And here is what is in each "main" folder (yeah, I'm bored):
Bodyshop: 856 MB, 2224 files
Build: 65.8 MB, 446 files
Buy: 1.10 GB, 6285 files, 488 folders
Default: 156 MB, 39 files
Mods: 2.24 MB, 228 files
Neighborhood: 59.7 MB, 99 files
Then I've got a bunch of completely unsorted content: 617 MB, 2420 files.
It also has Scriptorium and CEP too.

I only have 190MB. I used to have way more the first time I installed TS2. But after starting clean again (I re-installed TS2 a few weeks ago after giving up on TS3), I don't bother with CC. And all of my CC is from Holy Simoly, and it's all furniture/walls/floors. I think I can live without custom hair and clothes...

i just looked at my d/l folder. i have exactly 707 individual files on 419mb on disk space. its not much, but since i have an older computer, it slows my game down a lot. what i have the most of is zelda clothing, cars from various creators, hair items, decorative objects (mostly from zelda), a few custom careers (from zelda), a custom major (zelda), some nude replacements and other misc "adult" themed stuff from sexysims2, and some premade sims (again, mostly zelda). as you can see, im a legend of zelda addict. i played every game, from every generation of consoles and handhelds (minus zelda 2, four swords adventures, and the A Link to the Past GBA remake). and the fact that my ID here is HylianWolf is another reference (LOVED Twilight Princess). there you have it

Very little. I find it hard to get good CC. Most of the best stuff is hard to find. It's also limited due to how I like default replacements-I have default replacement eyes and I'm looking for a good default replacement skin, which limits the amounts of eyes and skins you can get.

I do use the stuff I download. And I have tens of thousands... ROTFL. I know, I am ashamed. What makes me mad though, is to catalogue the things. Some creators are not really helpful. Every set should have a downloadable collection file AND collection image.

In an effort to make my game run faster, I have decided to delete all of my custom content and start over again. Upon deleting it I was completely shocked to find that I had 15,000 items in my downloads folder, as well as 28.0 GIGS of stuff downloaded.

That's a good choice. I mean, I haven't done it myself, but I did start an alternate SIMS2 file to play with minimun CC. And that minimun is nothing but some correction hacks, a couple of curtains and pose boxes.
I wanted to try to work with what the game gave me. There were objects I hadn't even seen! I mean, four years of playing, and there are objects I still haven't used.
I still have my "normal" Sims 2 folder, with CC and all my old sims. I play it sometimes, when I can actually wait for it to load. I took this CC-free, start-over chance to play a legacy in desiderata valley, and start a neighborhood from scratch. Things are going well. Kinda miss the freaky aliens that can only be possible with CC, but I guess "normal" sims are ok too.

Not very much right now. 79 MB in my Downloads folder, 63 files.
Default skin replacements, default eye replacements, a few recolors, a few mods/hacks but not too many.
When I was playing the Sims 2 in 2006, and was making machinima (before I took a break from the Sims), I had a ton of CC that took 15 minutes to load. Too long... too much stuff for my sanity.

17,527 files in 2,190 folders.
Total size: 4.21GB.
Unfortunately for me, I don't tend to take stuff out once it's in my game, so my CC count just gets higher and higher. In fact, in my last post here (Feb 2010) I stated I had 11,554 files in 2,047 folders, totalling 2.61GB.

Custom content folders:
Downloads folder: 6.05 GB: 15981 files, 78 subfolders.
SavedSims folder: 217 MB: 454 files
My Documents folders:
EA Games folder: 9.23 GB: 23547 files, 194 subfolders.
AnyGameStarter folder: 7.27 GB: 18548 files, 182 subfolders.
Program Files/EA Games folder: 14 GB: 25455 files, 2546 subfolders.
Total: 30 GB: 67500 files. Half of my hard drive.
The only type of content that I never downloaded are careers, and I don't want to. I think that the most downloads I have are hairs. I must have more than 7000 recolors.

that's mainly poor unzipping and possibly multiple copies of cc for s2. i do have s3 ccs but i've left their rars untouched.
i should really organize everything but I'm not sure what's what anymore...

Your computer has to have at least 20% of free space to work fine (among other things). You can organise your custom content using Delphy's Download Organiser, you can sort the files by type and move them to folders, although it can't move all files and it doesn't recognize some of them. It is useful if you have to look for conflicting cc.

In Sims 2 I think I had about 2000 - 4000 CC items, which is nothing compared to what I've already seen on the first page  Now in Sims 3 I think I have 40 or 50 files or something, which is already too much for my pc

Because I haven't looked in a while...I'm at 4.2 GB at the moment. One day I'll go through that hair folder and get rid of crappy stuff I downloaded when I was a n00b. I swear. The stupid folder is still the largest one, file-size-wise -- almost half of my total, actually *rolls eyes* -- and I'm not much of a hair fan anymore, so.... Yet there are ones in there that I really like, so I don't want to just chuck the whole thing. Ah, dilemmas... Maybe I'll get off my ass and start the Hair Project today...

5.3G/19389 files
Sadly, I can't attribute this bloat to my n00b phase, since I regularly purge my Downloads folder of stuff I decide I really won't use, after all. (The files get shifted to a folder on my desktop called "Removed Downloads," just in case I pull something out that I was actually using.) I blame the bloat on color actions and my own indecisiveness. Half of my hairs have four "Pookleted" families, and every time I think I can completely get rid of one shade of red or two shades of brown, I see a mesh where that particular shade is the most flattering.
iCad
17th Mar 2011, 11:09 PM
I purge stuff, too. Often. I'll go through a phase where I decide that I absolutely hate all of my siding, and out it all goes. I just can't seem to do that with hair. It's harder for me to do, since I'm rarely in CAS and never use Bodyshop, so there are few opportunities to delete from in-game. (And that leaves meshes behind anyway, from what I understand). And I just wasn't very organized in downloading hairs when I was into downloading them, so they're all in a jumbled mess, including the n00b gappy Peggy stuff that I thought was fabulous, and...yeah. Excuses. ;) I'm pretty good with male hairs, mostly because there aren't that many that I like and so I don't have many, aside from fanseelamb's. But female hairs? *shudder*
But I'm gonna do it! When next I start my game, I'm going into CAS and start. I swear. :)

Sims are much less likely to just sit around doing nothing.
Many actions such as watching TV or eating dinner help Comfort while addressing other motives so activities like "Sit" or "Relax" are just a waste. Seriously, who just sits in a chair staring at a wall?
With this mod sims will autonomously use these actions only if sick (including first trimester pregnancy) or if Comfort is the lowest motive. In other words, almost never.
Affects chairs, couches, sectionals, recliners, beds and hammocks. Will not affect actions which require these items - for example sims will still autonomously sit in a chair to play chess.

I'm so jazzed! I finally bit the bullet and embarked on and, over the course of three freakin' days, finished the Great Hair Project! I got rid of styles I don't like in game/were old and therefore not very pretty compared to new stuff/that I never use because I just have never had a Sim they looked good on. Then I whittled down the styles I kept to at most 2 shades of each color. I also got rid of everything unbinned, most of which was old and, therefore, not as pretty. As a result, my Hair folder went from a grossly bloated 2.2GB to...389MB. And there are now orphan meshes in there, I know, and once I track those down, it'll be even smaller. YAY!
Then while I was at it I went through and did a round of Compressorizing, which I hadn't done in a while, so the stuff I've downloaded in the last six months or so wasn't compressed unless the creator had already compressed it. So, I Compressorized everything except my own in-progress projects. (I also compressed my Lot Catalog, the Neighborhood files, everything .package, and now the game and lots are loading a bit faster.) So between the Compressorizing and the Hair Project, my Downloads folder went from almost 5GB...to 1.1GB. *dances*
Time to go download more stuff! Just not hair. ;)

Let's seee... in my maxis match game, 2.34GB. Butttt... that will go up once I add some much needed buildmode stuff. (Mainly wallpapers)
In my realistic game... 3.72GB. Ew. I am going to working on reducing that; I think most of the problem is in my hair subfolder. My next project is to eliminate all hairs that are not pookleted. I recently got it down from 4.4 by deleting a lot of clothes. Also, I am getting rid of a few furniture meshes, since the only things I really use are Holy Simoly, ATS2, maxis recolors, and a few bits and pieces of clutter.

I have a little over a gig, but i've only recently starting playing the Sims 2 again. I really like it much better than the Sims 3 in a lot of ways. There's more to do with pets, seasons, university and open for business, and it's faster. I also like controlling all the characters at different times. I'm impatient and a control freak. The Sims 3 needs to work out some kinks first before i'll play again.

Honestly, at this point about 6 gigs. But this is on a dual core laptop with plenty of video and a 250 Gb hard drive. The only issue I've really had has been with the time it takes to load (about 10 minutes) or shut down. I read something somewhere about some poor addicted soul who had over 40000 items...(Like I should talk I'm at 8500). Still, the game plays great once I'm in it.
I have learned one thing though, I "ALWAYS" back up my downloads folder prior to going on a "shopping binge"!

LOL I had to start over about 2 weeks ago because my old computer died and stupid me didn't have any of it backed up. My problem is I stopped downloading the stuff 2 years ago when sims 3 came out. So now I have 8gigs of memory and I am horribly overwhelmed looking for the stuff I had, websites being down that I know I used, and all the AMAZEING stuff that is out there now and finding new sites as I go.

Yea, me too. The graphics are great etc, but beyond that I was not impressed. Modding is iffy at best. You obviously can't do to TS3 whats been done to TS2. "That", I was disappointed with, and finally it seems to me that no matter how good you are or how hard to try the Sims themselves look waaay to much alike...unlike TS2.
I hear rumors that EA is working on "TS4", but it may be playable "online" only. If that's the case, this will probably "kill" the series. I know it will be the end for me...unless some of us out here manage to keep TS2 around and alive..."but", that's another thread. :D

I had tons of CC but when i went to sims 3 stupid me deleted my downloads folder and had no back up. didnt like sims 3 and went back to sims 2 and had to start all over. i had 23,000 downloads and it was 7.40 GB but too slow. it would take an hr or so to load the game and game kept crashing so i deleted and began again being more selective with CC though im a CC addict so using restraint has been hard. i have 4,656 downloads now in 66 folders and have used 1.81 GB. im still downloading as many sites have closed and i fear some of my fav will close soon so grabbing my fav things now but i am aiming to not go over 7,000 downloads, then copying my downloads folder to disc for backup. any other good ideas on saving downloads so i will always have them?
I have an enormous amount of clothing which is my biggest addiction, i have objects and room sets, walls and floors, decorative items, makeup, a few pre-made sims, skins with and without tattoos, accesories such as nails and jewlery, some cars, hair, and some mods.

Around a 1,000. I have about 15 things to add to it the next time I play. I won't go much over that, because I can't live with loading times of more than five minutes. Yes, I'm impatient.I find 3 minutes interminable. That's how long it takes to start my fully-loaded neighborhood with all EPs and SPs and all of my CC. For building, I prefer a load time of a minute or so, so I have various AnyGames set up.

A good way for me to pass the loading times is to load it on windowed mode and boot up TS1 or TS3, or turn on any one of my other computers and play TS1/TS3 off of there. If not, I like to watch TV or play Harvest Moon.

Yesterday I spent my whole day recategorising my downloads into folders (Thank god for Delphy's Download Organiser), hoping I'd find some hidden hack that was causing my game to crash, and have found that I have about 2.5 gig of downloads, 5555 files. And here I am today, still downloading stuff ^^;

14GB's of Downloads. It's such a shame but it's of my daily routine to find out what updates are where and to get them. I'm constantly in and out of Body Shop deleting Hair recolors and clothing. My hair is over 6GB's and the most is Peggy and Newsea. Everyone recolors them and it's so hard to not feed into my addiction. :faceslap:
Since I make videos it's hard to configure what to toss out because what I don't need today, I need tomorrow. Load time is usually about 2 Hours, maybe more.
It used to be 19GB's and I've shed it all from in-game and Body shop deleting. Talk about consistence, but I have to see what I'm deleting at all costs. :king:
EDIT: Cut hair down to 2.23GB, and downloads folder down to 8GB. Loads still slower than wanted. Hoping to cut Objects/Buildmode down to 2GB's from 3.8GB's, and clothes down to 2GB's. This will hopefully leave me at a healthy 6GB's.

1.3 gB. It's been holding pretty steady at that for a few months. Like many people, I went on a spree back when I found out about CC; now I'm a lot choosier. :) It takes about 5 minutes to load. During that time, I go to the bathroom, or fold some clothes, etc. It's not that terrible a wait.

I have 2,6 GB right now, but I´m so addicted to these lovely CC that my Downloads-folder is constantly growing. I´m in the process of organizing everything better and delete things I never use, though. I have lots of hairstyles and clothes that is of a high quality, but simply isn´t my style and thus useless for me. Also, I don´t always feel the need to have 4 different recolours of the same hair, when I usualy only use maximally 2 of them.

689MB. 1,591 files in 115 folders. I try to keep mine organised; I have a build/buy folder, hair folder, hack/mod folder, default replacement folder, makeup folder, clothes folder, and then subfolders by creator (or at least I try to keep it that way), mostly within the hair and clothes folder. I download a lot of Maxis Match hair and clothes, and then essential (for me) hacks and mods, and I don't really have a lot of stuff in the makeup or build/buy folder.

Just started playing Sims 2 again, I took a year and a half break lol. So In the last two days I've managed to d/l 1.40GB, 4,112 Files, 389 Folders.
And that's being very selective and organized, I organize by website and living, dining, kitchen, genetics, recolor etc.
Then I create a folder for each thing I download because I hate package files being all cluttered. Unless it's just one item and I throw it in my random folder. I tried Sims 3 but I could only play it on medium settings and it lagged occasionally cause I'm on a laptop, but I can run Sims 2 on max settings, also loads much faster, only have to wait about 2 minutes. Also there's a lot more to find on Sims 2.
I got 350GB left on my hard drive, so I'm not stopping anytime soon :D (No EA Content lmao)

I was trying to keep it under 1g.. then it was under 2g.... now I'm over 2.5 gigs
it takes about 5 mins to load the game, and about 1 minute to load a lot (thats loaded with cc)
I don't really mind it taking up that much space - I have a pretty big hard drive - I don't even mind the wait time with loading - what really gets me is how many files in there don't actually work for my game. Yesterday I had over 10,000 files. I went through every page on my downloads and checked to make sure I had it or it was deleted. I managed to find around 2000 pieces that weren't working or found in game somewhere. but somehow last night between finishing that cleanup, and waking up this morning... I managed to download another 3,000 items to replace them :D
Today I have 11,584 items at 2.88 gigs - I see no stopping.... I'm addicted!
some are not working.... it'll be a long day :D

I'm a CC addict and am constantly trying to get rid of stuff I barely use... to make room for more ;) My Downloads folder is 2.36 GB, with 8852 files. I thought there couldn't possibly be anyone with more CC than me! It takes a few minutes to load my game for the first time that day - I'd say 5 max - but loads faster whenever I run the game again on the same day. Body Shop takes a bit longer, especially if I have new content for it.
I have tons of stuff in every area, really. Lots of mods and hacks. A RIDICULOUS amount of clothing, hair, accessories, and makeup. So many walls and floors, and oh my God my gardening folder is stuffed to bursting (I love plants and landscaping). I have many object sets, mainly from Parsimonious, and lots of lighting from them as well. I'm obsessed with color coordination, so I have more counters, chairs and sofas than I'll ever need. My biggest weakness is probably the Decorative category. I know I shouldn't have that many curtains and paintings. Of course, I have a million plants. And now that I have OfB, the number of sculptures/knick-knacks/clutter objects has exploded, since I can make shops and SELL stuff!
Seriously, though, decor and clutter make the game look so much more.. lived-in. I don't need it to be realistic; it's the Sims, but you get a whole new ambiance when you add those little details. (Maybe it's because I'm a cluttery person in the first place :) )

I actually have tons of Maxis recolors, too. I have many of Piggi's wonderful Maxis recolors, but I don't think they're available anywhere now (when she passed away last year, Blacky's Sims Zoo uploaded her files to their site, but I wasn't able to find her Maxis recolors there.)
I taught myself how to do simple recoloring using SimPE with the tutorials here. If you'd like to learn, start here with this great beginner tutorial by Numenor (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=102356). That one teaches you the basics of Object Workshop; there's also one on making custom paintings with Photo Studio (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=95015) using the Maxis meshes. (Once I learned how to do that, I started making EVERYTHING into paintings. Heh.) Other than SimPE you'll need a graphics editing program (Photoshop, Gimp, etc). It's not hard to learn, and it's worth it, especially when that bright blue couch clashes horribly with your wallpaper. ;)

But I personaly admit this : The biggest fun part of the sims 2 is looking for mod ! I have more fun searching for them and reading what each does...then playing the actual game .

I've got a mere 8.9 gb. In my main game, that is. My medieval game has 5 gb. My apocalyptic game has 7.7 gb. Were you saying you had too much? (Funny, I thought the apocalypse had less than medieval. Huh.) The nice thing about cc is it's not a limited resource: me having it does not preclude someone else having it.

I'm like you Darby the single largest file in my DL folder are the game mods. My problem is that with Mac there is a file limit for the DL of about 11,000 and I'm just under it so in order to get something new I have to give up something else. I've recently discovered the default database so I've been adding defaults for all the Maxis hair and clothes which in turn enables me to purge a bunch of the custom hair and clothes I have.
I'm trying to go the re-color route as well and I've purged huge amounts of cc for furniture and kitchens and so forth. The Maxis stuff isn't bad once it's re-colored and made to match, seriously what were they thinking? This is of course all in the pursuit of reducing my file size so I can download yet more stuff. It's probably a good thing I have a limit actually as I'm not sure I would ever purge without one.

I currently have very little and the majority is mods. Its like 100 or some mb.
I don't know how many files I can have until the game starts to load slow.
I just got a 2.6 dual core recently so it might be able to take more.
So you people with the multiple gbs... What are your specs and what are your loading times?

The fact is that I want to have just cc that I really use.. and I know that I can't use 6271 files :P .
Moreover I think that The Sims without cc can be more challenging.
For example, it is more difficult to furnish an house without recolours and pretty (new) meshes... and I love challenges :P
However I can't stop hunting for new cc, the sims community has too many great creators

I have an Intel quad core (q9400)... loading times: less than a minute..

So would 19,567 files separated into 539 folders be a little excessive? My downloads folder is only 9.78 GB! (Yeah, I've got an addiction, what can I say!) At least with my current computer my load time is only about 5 minutes. On my last machine it took almost 15.

Assuming one's computer can handle it, "excessive" is entirely subjective, as is "too much". It all depends on what you can tolerate with regard to load times, and browsing the Buy/Build catalogs. ;)

384 mb of custom content (and 349 of it is all historical-related cc)
The amount of cc that I've downloaded for my historical game is enough to last me a long time, I should think. I have stuffs in buy/build catalogues and cas catalogues, especially clothes. I am going for a 17th century look for my game (the time period of Charles Perrault and his fairy-tale stories, so I really want something to look fairytale-ish). I've got gowns for princesses and ladies, well-dressed suits and capes for upperclass gentlemen and lords, simple middleclass wear, poor folks' wear, and special occupation clothes. Oh gee, I still need an outfit for a monk and a nun and a priestly outfit for my game. I know monk outfits and nun outfits are already available for download, though I am not so sure about priestly outfits. So, I may have to make my own priestly gowns. :)

Piggi's Files on Box (http://www.box.com/shared/7djacqh9092v34ek671c/1/157545589/) You'll find a lot of her Maxis recolors there.
9979 files..around 2.5g. That # is going down because I've been going through and editing things I really want to keep- like master/slaving large sets. I just did that with some candles and got rid of over 200 recolor files. Mind you, I didn't need to keep all the recolors I did. But I like them! And now I still have all those recolors and only have to have them once..instead of 4 times. :)

My 4C folder (Complete Custom Content Collection), where I keep everything I download, has just reached exactly 10GB and now contains 28,452 files and 523 subfolders. Spot the CC addict.
Of course that's not all in my game right now... I make separate collections for each hood, using only what I plan to have in that hood, and the amount of stuff currently in my game is only 2.44GB, 6,090 files, 203 subfolders.

Some of it is pictures, and possibly some stray zip/rar files, and I do save internet links in the folders (for easier locating) but still...
Something tells me it's about time I clean up there (been on my to-do-list for ages).
My desktop computer handles it (but complains by throwing memory/graphic errors by purple flashing when it has had enough)
My laptop isn't too happy, and sometimes refuses to load. That one need serious cleaning, I suspect...

I'm taking it slow because I'm trying to keep it all neatly organised. I failed at that during my last install, and it was such a hassle finding things that my game objected to.... It's currently 2,555 files, 184 folders.
I have stuff organised by Sub Category (Hacks, CAS, Buy Mode, Build Mode, Food, Careers, Majors etc) and the Creator (or Site). The Hacks folder is also sub-divided according to what the hack affects (Relationships, University, Ageing etc). Seems to be working so far :-)

Right now it´s "only" 3,56 GB. Before I started to trim down my downloads folder it was something like 5,2 GB once, and that was when I realized I couldn´t continue like I that. I basically downloaded everything I though looked pretty good and I downloaded lots of clothes and hair I thought I would maybe use sometime. Even with a smaller downloadsfolder I still feel like I have tons of stuff I´ll never use, but just can´t get rid of because they are so pretty... My goal right now is to get under 3 GB.

I put my stuff in folders so I can find it easily if something is glitching, conflicting or I simply don't like it. It also helps to have everything organised.

My issue is that I only have 9 GB free space left on C and there is where my Sims is running too. That has put the breaks on the downloads. (80 GB space in total on C when I would have nothing on it, have way more on D but that does not help me in this one.)

My game used to load slowly even with only 3.85GB of stuff. I have dual core, but ever since I took out ACR my game starts right up. I never use the Bluewater Village anymore so I think that MIGHT shave off some loading time. I do use a custom downtown because the dead Tricou's enjoy crashing the community lots whenever I'm on them. I know its them because of the Hood Checker. Whenever it was attached it would discover a bunch of stuff relating to them all but I'm not good enough with SimPE to fix that without having a borkage-a-thon.
I think the only real mod that I couldn't live without is my InTeen. If I had to give up the other stuff I could, but the InTeen has to stay or I can't really play.

What is freakin' forever? Like half an hour or more?
Then it sounds to me you have too much c.c. your pc can handle.
If freakin' forever means ten minutes or so, to me that would be worth the wait for. ;)
There is ofcourse a way to figure out if there is content you don't even use and not like anymore. Look at all the stuff you have when you are ín the game.
That is quite a chore. Certainly if you have as much cc as I have.
But it is worth to do if you want your loading time reduced.
In buy mode check all the sections, click on the pictures of the cc items (the ones with * in the picture) without buying it and decide wether you want to keep it or not. If you don't recognize it as being used and don't like it, you can delete it right there.
If you doubt if you should delete one or not, keep it until a next cleaning up session.
And also there is no need to do this task in one go. Way too boring for me. I do from time to time a bit until I think 'bleeeh'. Then I quit until a next time.
Another thing. Have you ever checked your hairdepartment in CAS?
You might have doubles, triples or even five items of the same.
It could help you a lot to go through this. Warning: this is even a more boring and time consuming thing to do, but if you keep in mind it sure will help you in cleaning up your stuff you will probably hang in there long enough to loose a bunch of files.
Don't forget to change the sample Sim from toddler to elder in checking all the sections.
There is also a program here in cleaning up your downloadfolder.

I've been on a wall/floors downloading spree for a while. I never did have that many. Only up to 4Gigs though. Whenever I put a bunch in I try to take a bunch of no needed stuff out.

Although, the last time I checked I had over 2500 files, and somewhere in the 980's of mb. I've recently deleted some clothing I don't use, so it may have come down a bit. But, my addiction to clothing, and new mods, that number could easily rise again! :faceslap:

I have downloaded a lot since 2010 until just a few weeks ago and all that stuff took about 1,2 GB if I remember correctly. However, I did things I shouldn't have done with the game so I ended up with no downloads at all... Ever since I've been trying to get back the most essential stuff and am back with about 636 MB. At least I cleaned out some stuff that I never used. :)

I'm on a cleaning out mission too. Little by little, because it is boring to do. First I had 10.8 GB but now it is 10.5 GB.
I'm also busy with making subfolders and putting everything where it belongs.

I have about 800 files I thought I had A LOT compared to others. But I don't know why my games lags so much. - _ -

Computer specs, large lots, large families - any number of things. CC doesn't really cause lag. Long load times, yes, but not lag, generally.

That's extreamly small. You can try going into your game options and turning shadows to medium or off, that might help with the lag.

Unless it is really highpoly?

Could be. Especially on a computer with low specs that's struggling to begin with.

Not a good idea outright, but with that much CC, you could do some harm to your computer if you're straining it beyond what it was made for. Had a guy come in about a month ago complaining that his crappy, old Dell lagged during games, and now it wouldn't start up. The guy turned it on, we got a funny smell, so we opened it up, and it had gotten so hot that shit had started to melt. The keys had already started to pop off because he'd been playing in a hot room, in direct sunlight, on a laptop designed for . . . well, nowadays, the recycling depot.
I've hit a comfortable 89 GB, but that's only for a movie that I'm making, then it's slumming it down to 75 GB.
i'm crazy i know

Down to 10 Gig. 26.800 Files. Maybe I can get rid of some more but for now I am sick of cleaning out. ;)

I always wonder how people do it with so little downloads or not even downloads at all. Then very soon your Sims end up with the same items in the house.
Maybe I could 'loose' another 500 MB or so but I guess then it would come down to throw away stuff I really like or what is really beautiful imo. I can't do that. :)
I even have another 600 MB or so downloads waiting in Winrar I didn't even put in yet, because I first want to clean out all the stuff I can miss.
Ella, to me that is (almost) in the range of little. I don't think I could bring it down to that amount. ;)

I dont have any CC in my game other than the walls I used to make. I find some of my homes look similar but I am okay with that.
